I'm not an expert but on £4500 then £900 VAT is due (20%) however if the buyer is VAT registered in the UK then they would claim this amount back on their VAT return. VAT would then be due on the sale which I believe is calculated in a strange way on collectibles and second hand antiques etc. I believe 16.66% of the difference between the purchase price and the selling price would be due. In this case the difference would be £750 hence £125 VAT due (16.66%). If the seller is a limited company in the UK then 20% corporation tax would be payable on the year end profit. FEW!!!

I don't believe Richard had any direct connection with the club. I don't even know that he went there but I suppose he is the right age to have attended at some point. I recall Richard was a record collector/dealer who was based at his parents house in Finchfield, Wolverhampton. Also dealt in Marvel comics. I bought some good records from him back in the day. The Bottle was released in 1977 on Arista 7", maybe that is why it charted in that year. The Strata East 7" states 1974 on the label.

Well it's still there on Manship's website at 2pm on Friday after the auction closed 6pm Wednesday. And so is the Monclairs! Maybe it's the same buyer trying to increase his credit card limit to cover the £8833?

I seem to recall that the white demo's play slightly off centre - at least some of them do. I think we all need to check Manship's guide later to refresh our memories.

Given that the original - in any format - has always been said to be a "Holy Grail" then it is likely that most of the you tube clips are from 70's pressings. But of course we can't be sure.

The first pressing run is known to have a small skip (SKIPS ONE NOTE) towards the end of the track on most copies.

What a sad loss, I last saw Mark at the Bradmore, Strictly modern soul night a couple of years ago. He was still out there, despite his illness, enjoying the music and having a laugh about old tImes. He will be greatly missed. RIP. Carl

I have a green stock copy of The Voice box - "I Want It Back" - Loma, purchased from Blue Max at his shop in Wednesfield Circa 1982. It also has the Catacombs stamp on both sides. No other writing on the labels. I don't recall any explanation from Max as to why the stamp was there. I just bought it as it is a great dancer.
