I still believe it is due for release later this year.

New Northern Soul Film Release Date?
The last I heard it was going to Festival either Cannes or one in the summer to get the interest levels up amongst the film world.

Notations - Tad - Trying My Best To Find Her
I last saw this at the £100 Club a couple of years ago. I told someone I was going to 'av (it was 100) it just as soon as I finished my set, only to find they'd gone and bought it in the meantime. PS: It wasn't Warren!

New Vinyl - Are We Bothered
There has been some fabulous stuff on new vinyl over the last 10 years. And a lot of it in extremely limited runs. I wonder how long before it starts appearing on JM auction?

What Would Of Happened If Darell Banks Had Lived?
Donnie Elbert claimed everyone stole his songs...It all got a bit tedious listening to him after a while....Is it categorically true that he wrote Open the door then????

Flowers - For Real
For those that have never been to L.A An iconic control tower.....I seem to remember Flowers at one point had an office just round the corner from the airport.

Have You Ever Worn A Record Out?
Never worn a record out but as we discussed the other day I have got through 2 x copies of Otis Clay "Only way is up" in 30 years because it's such crappy styrene and starts distorting. A few other styrenes have been damaged a bit and are nearing the end of their life, so only played sparingly these days - Joe Matthews on Kool Kat is one like that! I've never worn out a vinyl pressing of anything and question whether you can actually wear out say a British press 45 if properly looked after as Pete says.

Charles Bradley New Album
Great album!

Flowers - For Real
It's become boring since just about every DJ in the land added it to their sets as a "mandatory play" regardless of time or place.....
-
Flowers - For Real
Hi John, I am not convinced by that. Certainly "For real" was "discovered" first. As to when they were all pressed, I am not sure. West Coast you see, once we move beyond Monarch pressings it all is beyond me.....

Flowers - For Real
Yes "We can make it happen" was the one re-pressed with a large hole. Originals are solid centre as you say.

Flowers - For Real
Richard Flowers also recorded on another label beforehand, a blue thing on styrene, and not brilliant. I have it somewhere in the lock up.

Jon Ford
It does turn up occasionally. Pete S can correct me but I think there are also WDs? I am sure I have seen it on WD.

What Would Of Happened If Darell Banks Had Lived?
I think there would have been a couple of collectible 70s singles, and he would have been brought over to play CLEETHORPES a few years ago.

Luther Davis Group Sound Quality
I respectfully disagree. It's not a great pressing. I mean 4 minutes long on polystyrene ffs? It's never going to be great.... but you should be able to find a minter, just don't play it too much Another one was Otis Clay Only way is up - similar long record on poor quality styrene, they start to deteriorate after a few plays.

For Sale Kurtis Scott 'build, Build, Build' On Happenin'
Yep I don't think it's built up enough of a following. Not many had an original copy, and there are hundreds of people that still haven't heard it.

Lp's Which Are The Holy Grails
Yes a very rare album Fingers.....things like that will always hold their price.

Motown Piano Restored By Macca
I wasn't limiting my comments to Motown Pete, but to black america in general which was royally ripped off by these "charletons" and "Johnny Go Lightlies". As for The Marvellettes Mr Postman huge hit in the UK? When was that then? A hit in the US sure. I have always had a massive chip on my shoulder when it comes to the Beatles and the other Brit bands. It'll never change. That said I love some of the Brit stuff as you know!
-
Motown Piano Restored By Macca
...and of course the "American acts" had the hits. Oh no, that bit's not right....Freddy & The Dreamers and Gerry & the Pacemakers and Cilla Black had the hits.
-
Motown Piano Restored By Macca
Eventually it was as barriers eventually broke down, but if you check your history, in the early days it went one way from Black America to both white America and endless British sub standard groups and singers - the Beatles included! Pow!
-
Motown Piano Restored By Macca
Nice gesture indeed, especially since those nice Beatle fellas made so much money re-recording Motown sounds.....Flamethrower now lit.......
-
Soul Junction Records
Great stuff Dave and John.

Judy Freeman Hold On Info Wanted
Yes extended version on acetate. And Jeri to confirm all demos and issues of this on vinyl.

So Who Exactly Was John L. Brown?
What makes me think it's not a NY Jamaican bootleg is the B side. A weird bootleg for sure.....
