  1. To be honest there's not too much in it of interest.....It's quite interesting without being a rivetting read. Still love the name "Chatty Hattiethough
  2. John, i presume from the above you have bought a copy of her book? I tracked down a copy after reading Mark's book.
  3. Yes saw him a couple of years ago. still in the Clowne area....
  4. Cor blimey! Reminds me of the time Dave Greenhill and myself went up there in the back of Randy Cozens Ernest Wedge roofers van...like an Ford Escort van so not a lot of room. Went straight from work up to Soutgate - Took us hours to get across N.London / Herts and onto the M1. When we got to Rotherham Randy wanted a pint and we nearly got into a fight with about 20 local "civilians"....who didn't take kindly to the three "cocker knees" in their local. Seem to remember a good night at Clifton Hall, and Pat Brady leaving early Neil Page with his flashing record box with lights on! Preston Street Dancers with their whistles whooping it up....All good clean fun.
  5. Actually I don't think I've ever seen an original Don Varner WD Only the black Quinvy's.. But is anyone really expecting these rock, pop and psych dudes to have a detailed understanding of northern?
  6. Wasn't the coloured design the "2nd issue" ?
  7. Same as always it's a case of "buyer beware"......Seller says "mega rare" - for a second issue - really? $810 bid f.f.s...
  8. Yes I know......suprised his hand is still on....but pleased in a way :
  9. It's a great double sider - someone bite Bob's hand off!
  10. Nice - Doris Duke.....
  11. Very funny.....
  12. Blimee that makes the old deep funk forum look like a Teddy Bears picnic.....
  13. Good idea, like it..... but it'd have to be Niters / Dayers only since there are thousands of soul nites and weekenders everywhere.......
  14. There is of course the famous telegraph pole sign for Fluorescent Smogg in concert......now that would be a nice poster to have.....
  15. Yes I agree Ivor. Patti Jo extended mix is brill.
  16. Hi Ivor, it was planned as his second Wand 45 but they didn't like the mix so got Tom to re-do it, but then never put it out.
  17. Think it's merely chance / luck since I thought the labels are stuck on one at a time. It would be nice if they did match though....
  18. It's unissued Jordi....came via Chris King / Pat Brady in the early 90s - Got a lovely walloping New York booming backbeat on it, and pronounced string arrangement etc. Mr M - The true Master at Work!
  19. You really want the Tom Moulton re-mix :-)....by miles the best version.....
  20. Only limited demand for it Wayne. I guess it's past it's peak now :-) Be's that way sometimes with records.....some you win some you lose......
  21. Hi Dave, it's possible certainly, I am going to call someone who may remember......If I find out will let you know. Cheers Steve
  22. Best and first version!
  23. Hi Ian, Thanks I do know that Ann was Tash Howard's act. Tash is long passed over like J.R.Bailey. I am thinking if it was j.R Baileys sister or something he'd probably have been involved in the publishing or writing somewhere......but his name doesn't appear. :-(
  24. I agree Nev in principle, particularly with mediocre stuff. But I think really good soul records hold their price and this is a really good soul record. Not sure about £250 though, it's tempting me out to a few boot fairs to see what I can find
