  1. Yep I don't believe the bit about the Aussie release either……me think someone is taking the pith there Pete! BTW didn't answer your earlier comment, both sides way too slow for Soussan…..IMHO…. Anyway Milesago website and globaldog don't have a record of such a label existing in Australia……. Yep the synths are the thing that throws it all into confusion……Think the first two of the three posts are genuine enough though - second one from one of Nate Fortier's family as it goes, and had to smile at the "major collector of music" wanting to get in touch…. Fookin collectors you can't get away from 'em.
  2. Ian 5 mins on the web give you links to the thread on the old Spectropop site - a few snippets for ya! Hey, Ya'll Spectropop folk! Anyone know where to find the single "When We're All Alone Tonite", by Sandy Golden? She is the cousin of Booker T. (Booker T. & The MG's). The song came out in the mid 1960's. Appreciate any leads. She went to Dorsey H.S. in LosAngeles, and graduated in 1965. Thanks! Rock On My People, Charlo Crossly Hey, Sandy Golden was a friend of my brother-in-law Nate Fortier Jr., and he is looking for her as a friend who is a major collector of music wants to get in touch with her, and get the copy. Oh My Gosh! I've been after that single for Ages! The Australian release of it anyway. It was released here on the Australian version of Masterpiece (MP-004) in 1966. Would love to hear it if anyone wishes to put it on Musica. Cameron "‹Soussan indeed….. You wish! Australian release??? As Marc says an interesting thread!
  3. Or Fat Larry's Here comes the sun? That's pretty good.....
  4. Blimee that's an old article , a few years ago now (6-7?)......and factually incorrect dare I admit..... I have since got a third Allison record on ANSAP and pretty good it is too..... BTW Steve Long think I got this off of Andy Dyson....originally
  5. Looks like "let's make it up" talking on here again I am sorry to say....how can it be a bootleg? Bootlegs are created in response to demand. The furthest point you can get to is there may have been a Bobby Sanders or even a Soussan connection, or it may just be that they used the same label designer on the West Coast. Hello -there was a lot more going on in terms of record production than just the northern scene..... any event whatever it's source it remains a very rare record, and neither side was ever played at the Casino not even on a dub by the Dustbin.....It didn't even surface until the 80's.
  6. Hi Ian, There have always been "questions" about this record, partly because of the production as well I suspect, but nothing has ever been proven to undermine it's authenticity. The biggest argument against any Soussan involvement is that it's too fookin slow for him by miles. He would have considered it "dreary mid tempo" back in the early 70's. Thanks Triode for linking up the Artisan page. I do hope Simon is pulling our legs.....
  7. Was there in August, there were no hand baggers at all. There were some younger mod types - great! Good crowd up for some dancing and appreciating the tunes. Was there in 1981 too, some odd balls there back in 1981 for sure….Bananarama, Shane McGowan etc. Get down there Saturday and get on with it! Great line up, great niters!
  8. I have Ted…. He was, Masters of Soul - some fab tunes played
  9. Not on in the afternoon tho is it? That's 10-11.15 Sunday mornings - fortunately theres usually a far more interesting political punch up going on then…..

  17. Oh no I wondered how long it would be before Billy fookin' Arnell turned up....a pet hate of mine ever simnce someone at Reading All Dayer played the vocal side.....Hi Jerry, hope you are well! Discovered in Watford, and big in the south as well the only good things I can say about it.....
