Another dimension as a pretty serious soul collector with a large collection, Ebay is full of very average - sh*te records, I've seen a thousand times before. It's like a constant merry go round with the same boring spins popping up time and again - hey a bit like the northern scene ha ha….. I've got most of the ones I want. There is very little of excitement on there these days, excepting when a known collector is putting up some rarities, acetates, or a rare occasion when a genuine hard record is put up by someone.

Yes have to agree Pete. I found a CBS WD in a junk shop in High Brooms when Helen Shapiro was all the rage in the 70s. 10p it was....rushed home thinking I'd discovered some great alternative version of Russ's monster. I nearly took it back to the junk shop for a refund I was so disappointed.

Thanks Steve, appreciate it.

Steve G replied to Paul-s's topic in All About the SOUL
Why don't you call the uptempo stuff "Rare Funk" That way it will differentiate it from "Deep Funk" and also The Meters/Ohio Players/James Brown Funk and also Jazz Funk.....just saying like..... -

Hello Ivor, I don't remember Jay Strongman doing it, but I do remember Robbie Vincent having a brief dance on his Radio 1 show with Indie Soul......I even sent him some records to play (Johnny Dean etc.) which he duly did....Steve
