  1. Presumably this "harmless" 'dried bleach' does not damage the stylus then?
  2. Got into soul via the radio as a kid; got into northern when it was en vogue in the mid 70's when I heard some at my local disco....all very commercial stuff though like "A man like me", "I get the sweetest feeling", and "Heaven must have sent you".etc....I am sure a lot of people evolved into the northern thing.
  3. Indeed it is...
  4. I reckon your mate sold it too cheaply - but heck, what do I know?
  5. Hole Card has to be upwards of 6-700 and maybe more at this point.....Great record - in the box for Yarmouth as well!!! T.Y.A - this is seriously 'ard, and one that does not currently grace the record box chez moi. I thought Sam had got one a year or two back, but then found he'd emi'd it off of a CD Lovely record too.

    Help

I actually remember them turning up with a box full of the things one night at Wigan....I seem to recall they did sell rather quickly - because lots of kids were into that type of sound then. What I'd like to know is how much royalties did Tony Hatch and Jackie Trent get for that little lot....
  7. Of course - how remiss of me to not be able to remember the title - thanks for that bladeforlife....
  8. I agree on the rarity Christian - having the releases I will give them a listen to compare....
  9. the DVD is now out in the UK so you can see this classic blaxploitation film with the Womack soundtrack once again....Starring Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Kotto this one's on a par with Pam Grier's "Foxy Brown" (soundtrack Willie Hutch of course) which got a UK release a while back. Now where is "Ain't it Hell up in Harlem"? cool!
  10. Does that include the red ones? Brimstone Ingram, Jimmy Green and Leo's Sunship? We mustn't forget the red ones.....both on 7 and 12......
  11. Try (Tragar) Shake daddy shake (Atlantic) Let our love grow higher (Note) Beggars can't be choosy (Note) I think there's another one but I can't remember it right now, and there is snow in the record room.....
  12. Do you have "Get him off my conscience" or "Get it off my conscience" - both exist, and to have the full set Andy you have to have both of them!
  13. crumming = very good drumming btw
  14. I think that's about right. "Try" is very similar in style to the one she did on Atlantic (which is about £5), but she's one of those artists who never really made a bad one. 4 or 5 records in all, and all good. "Let our love grow higher" has some of the most amazing crumming you'll hear on a record imvho
  15. Axa
  16. George Soule on Fame. Grrreat!
  17. She was certainly a Levine protogee..
  18. Dottie Pearson? Now I think at least four of us played that on promo.... Sy Hightower - already in the bag
  19. You won't be let down at all by some of the "Yarmouth specials" Christian. Now if you excuse us "We've got a shop to run"....
  20. Adam, are you able to name these DJ's, or can you just point them out?
  21. Look forward to meeting you Christian - I assume you have been before? Judging by your playlists you'll enjoy it....
  22. I'd actually be interested to know if anyone has ALL of the grapevine issues (aside from the unissued stuff of course) on original vinyl - I doubt if there is such a person, and they'd have one hell of a collection if they did!!!
