  1. Excellent selection and a monster back in the day!
  2. Oh God I am outnumbered on this by you and the Plumbmeister then I'll give it another play and a revisit then
  3. It is excellent but the beggers cut 2 mins off the recording. I managed to get an acetate of this that's almost 5 mins long!
  4. Yes the Philly Phillies one.
  5. Well thanks Stevie and enjoying this thread
  6. He tried to sell me his copy and that's when he came out with the "it's very rare" comment. Mentioning IL and this thread, we should of course mention Elliot Hoffman-dreadful, but surely one of the rarest on TSOP - it was one of the last gaps in my collection of that label.
  7. One of the Kaleidoscopes is an excellent record - they did more than one on TSOP, as I am sure you know.
  8. I do play originals, it's only acetates that I've had copied. This is because they wear out....Steve
  9. Sorry guys having a few problems with the "send" button here....
  10. All right all right....NY demo here but run out groove is BP ZS8-3627-3. No Ae7 number so I presume NY came first.....

  13. I have had most of my acetates done, to preserve the originals>
  14. Oh yeah I remember that speculative post - Too right mate great double sider, likewise the Young Ladies
  15. Jeepers, he's not selling it already, he's only had it a few months!!! It's a great little record though.
  16. Yeah it really did struggle in the last year or two, down below 500 on some nights, and by about 5 am the place looked quite empty. It was really sad really, but what you were told was right.
  17. Try collecting Wand mate - a lifetime endeavour!
  18. Hi Chris This would be the KC Royals v Phila. "The Philly fanatics are just as mean".....as well as the football one I mentioned yesterday (which has had a few spins from me over the years) there is also a basketball version... Steve
  19. Shelf filler???? It's wonderful - not the side Sammy boy plays but the other side.
  20. I know Ian Levine was saying it was very rare because Caroline didn't know it came out. I have two copies, both issues.
  21. Big money or not, it's one of the rarest blue Stax's behind the Astors surfing record (which I still don't have), Eddie Jefferson, David Porter, and Gorgeous George. I remember when I got it I was quite disappointed with it and filed it straight away in the gap between 242 and 244.....The other side is called something like "March of the dimes" or something to do with a charity walk. As others have said Memphis white group. How it got onto Stax heaven only knows...Steve
  22. Agree a widespread practice in the mid 70's - even for the majors who were looking to cut costs etc......
  23. I am sure there's someone out there with such poor taste that they'd give this a revival - after all someone reactivated Holly St JAmes didn't they
  24. How rare is the Carolyn Crawford? Harder ones include....off the top of my head Also Brockington Sisters "Stretch out" (TSOP) a great little non hit McFadden & Whitehead "Ain't no stopping us now" the sports versions on TSOP Issues of "Hey baby" by Anthony White
