Blimee was it a Motown nighter or something. I cringe everytime I hear that record - awful

Different version of Baby love - played by Dave Evison last hour, or the dreaded Russ. Pretty awful as I recall, and I blotted THAT out from the memory banks....

Information Wanted
As Chalky says "Keep away" is a different track to "I saw you there". "Keep away" is just about OK, bit nowhere near "I saw you there". which was originally a Wigan spin in 79/80. Is there anything to substanciate this Carstairs story beyond the fact that both groups were on Gene Redd labels, some seven years apart?

77/78 Ken. It was pretty big for Richard, and a young me remembers dancing to it.

Wigan Casino - A Question
I know these numbers always get hyped but realistically I am not sure you would have got 3,000 in the place. Probably 2,200 tops.

....unless it takes off on the northern scene of course in which case there will be another 500 DJs after it

New World We're Gonna Make It Polydor 45
I still think it's a "buy" (but not at $1,600) or "hold" and will likely grow in demand over the next couple of years.

New World We're Gonna Make It Polydor 45
The days of this being a £50 record are long gone m8. I thought I bid high on the one on Ebay and I ended up about 5th and nowhere near the top two bidders. This was particularly frustrating as I missed one at Soul Bowl a few months ago at 350, and spent time 18 months ago "haggling" with a famous DJ / dealer, and eventually turned down his bottom line 300 price tag. And last time I spoke to him, Sir Martin of Barnfather didn't have it either. Knowing how tenacious he is at getting records he may well have it now, and if he starts spinning it, based on recent experiences we will surely see the price going up.

What Ever Happened To Trevor Swaine
He was around a couple of years ago and still interviewing George Chandler...sorry that's an old Blackbeat joke! Seriously he was engaging his time in one of his other passions Wimbledon FC or AFC Winbledon I cannot remember which now.

Ebay This Weekend - What's Happening?
I think it all depends on what you are after. There is definately more leaning towards trophy records and big indemanders. Fewer may be buying the semi forgotten oldie. At the same time you were winning your bids, I was hopelessly outbid on something by a country mile, even though I thought I had priced my bid to knock everyone else out of the way. How wrong I was. Same is true with other auction sites, you can get a very rare record quite cheaply nowdays, purely because everyone is bidding on the not very rare record in the same auction. It's a crazy world allright.

Wanted
It originally came out in 1975/6 and was actually remixed for release on Wand in 1976 by Tom Moulton no less. That of course is a much better version.

Carol Woods & The Executives Heart Breaker
Found mine in a High Brooms junk shop for 10p around 1980. Gawd knows how it got there!

Moaning Us Ebay Buyer
More suggestions 1) Offer him a reduced shipping rate for surface mail 2) Tell him you have reported his comments to the Post Office and they have opened up a log under their reference XY46568789235BY/USWhiner/4539576492sfgr.

Nice Johnny Nash Tune
No one mentioned his Cadet side yet? FANTASTIC beat ballad.

Travelling On Planes With Records
Might be a bit of a daft question, but presumably it's still OK to carry a box of records on a plane, within weight and size allowances of course? Has anyone done that in the last 6 months? Any problems?

Danny Noland
Yeah the vocals are a bit ropey. Apparantly it was a guy who just went in the studio and put it out, and then didn't sell any - familiar tale.

I quite like this, is it a "known" sound. I've had this Chicago sound for ages just sitting at home doing nothing.

Anyone Know Anything About This Uk Label?
I seem to recall the other might have been Peg Leg Moffatt, but without checking can't be 100% sure.

Anyone Know Anything About This Uk Label?
This one does turn up from time to time, but it is a bit of a mystery record.
