  1. Anyone got a copy of the Domestic Five for sale on Aquarius for sale please? Steve
  2. Yes I'll dig out the 45 tonight. Steve
  3. No 1 yes I have it somewhere. No 2 - don't believe so No 3 Don't believe so No 4 - No No 5 - Not sure
  4. There are plenty of early / mid 60s US records that were made out of shellac compound - you can normally tell them because an oily type hue is visible on the vinyl - it comes off of course with a gentle clean up. The plant that pressed some of the Sue and related labels material I think used it quite late.
  5. Exactly - so many good rare soul records were artists trying to sound like popular artists.
  6. My Stevens & Foster came in a soul pack I think
  7. Rip Pro - Stevens & Foster I got in the 70s. Simon - you need to hear it played in a club.
  8. Good to hear from him and a top class record
  9. Not old enough but I have heard this story before.
  10. People once again It is NOT the same fcuking guy - whatever websites you folks are sourcing this from I don't believe they are accurate. I interviewed Gene Chandler a few years ago and asked him about wally cox - a guy who came in off the street --deffo NOT a bespectacled geek either!
  11. One that's taking off for a few of us at the moment Third Wish "You gotta believe" - shades of Latin
  12. Played at New Chapter. Will probably play at Bass Museum, Room at the Back and Yarmuff as well.
  13. "Seven day lover" - big revival sound round here. Go on play it again - you'll see!
  14. I'd agree and as someone who used to collect the Arctic label until I gave up trying to find "Chains of love", I'd wager the B side of this is pretty good too! I used to play Step by step at Southgate a few years back, to good reaction. Might dust it off for revival - think it cost me £40 . Steve Plenty more Arctic's to be listed folks so keep going.
  15. Yeah all the best Princess Janine
  16. yes and I shall bring some peculiarities of the darkest seventy with me.
  17. Agreed top sound
  18. No Macca you can rest assured they are not the same person. Steve
  19. It means Martin Barnfather aka Soul Sam plays rare soul, ranging from northern soul and 70s and 80s. "Peculiarities of modern" indeed !
  20. Let that be a lesson to us all not to use Babel for translations I had forgotten about the Picture mix up, the Spanish were all laughing about that when we met them on the Friday. The guy that is in the photo is from Crystal Palace and only really attends weekenders in Europe, but as you say the caption reads "Soul Sam" .
  21. Nice..already played it out
  22. I got the 12 as a new release from a shop in Piccadilly Circus London, and it has never jumped. I find the sound much richer on the 12".#Good luck with your venue at Welwyn GC next week sigher. STeve
  23. Basically they asked him how he got into soul music and when, and what he was doing in Spain. I know he said he couldn't really hear what they were asking him. I am sure the final version will be in Spanish with Sam's voice replaced by a very deep spanish voice
  24. Per my Blog on the Luanco weekender, and courtesy of Macca, here is a photo of Sam being interviewed for Asturian TV.
