  1. There are two sets of LPs - one series from the arly / mid 70s showcasing writer / producers which includes the A&S one mentioned above, amongst others - have that somewhere, the trouble is with these LPs is that the tracks are short and all well known / original artist fare. Nice enough I guess if you don't have the tracks on 45 / LP. the Triple HDH that Dave took his tracks from is completely different and came out some years later. It was a special promotional triple to celebrate the return of HDH to Motown in 1980/1. It includes one LP of past songs (cover versions - almost Ian Levine style productions in some cases), one LP for today which includes well known artists (then) current style of sound, and one for tomorow with unknowns such as Wali ALi. The Triple LP was only on very limited distribution, and has some nice pics of HDH etc. Cheers Steve PS: Still loads of untapped Motown NOT on this thread - I wish I could upload files at times like this but where is The Courtship, Different Shades of Brown, Hutch, Art & honey, Virgil Henrico, Sisters Love, Eric & Vikings, Frankie Kar'hl, GC Cameroon, Devatstaing Affair, Rose Banks, Yvonne Fair, Leon Ware, Bobby Taylor on Mowest, Valerie Simpson, Gaye, Smokey, Knighty, Tata Vega etc etc etc......I could go on!
  2. There's a ton of great 70s Motown that hasn't been posted up yet - come on guys you can do better than this!!!!
  3. Dave the best track on the triple LP for me on there is "Take my love" which I sued to have covered up - Margo Michaels- way too short, but a real Phyllis Hyman type of sound. That album is RARE and has some interesting cover versions of hits on it as well. I usually keep it close to the record player.
  4. Mark IV - played consistently by Sam since 1984....twenty three years.
  5. Gavin Page and myself on here and a few others did the Soul 24-7 Washington party after 9/11. It was 80s / 90s, the crowd were very much up for dancing. no real rare stuff and no northern,.
  6. Tell us all Sean
  7. I am, bored with all of this stuff. DJ's are either leaders or followers, and in the UK we have both types. A DJ needs a mixture of new sounds and some stuff for the dancefloor, and needs to mix it up a bit. Quality has to come first over rarity. That's me done (I hope) on this topic.
  8. Fair comment to a degree to say let the buyer beware, but equally I want to encourage younger new bloods into collecting, rather than it just being the preserve of pot bellied 50 year olds and if these younger folks are getting ripped off by mis-descriptions they won't bother collecting for long. I think his comment "if it's not an original there's a hint" is appalling. It's fair to say without being flippant that I am lucky enough to know quite a bit about rare soul as most of you know (but we all continue to learn more all the time), but that's because I have been collecting since the 70's - some young Turks don't have the benefit of this history and years of trawling through boxes and collecting. It's those guys that I feel deserve a bit of integrity and encouragement, rather than clever games of spot the bootleg if you can. And that's why I say the seller is a CROOK.
  9. Not the most expensive record but a real treasure Dee Irwin "You satisfy my needs" (UK Stateside Demo Mint)
  10. True Image "Haven't stopped dancing yet", Gonzales "I'm not over you yet" - you've got to have a system to tell them apart I don't think it's on a revival, just that a DJ slipped it into his set last Friday....as for Standing on Solid Ground, as I say it's not played in these parts so I wouldn't be able to comment on the dancefloor reaction. Steve
  11. Surely these aren't still being played by anyone?????
  12. Yes I think they both have it or have had it in the past. As they are both on here though they can confirm.
  13. Na you can insure your collection for about £6 per thousand pounds in the uk (0.6%). Some insurance better than none - FIRE FIRE
  14. Can't open the attachment on my laptop - what is it please?
  15. Some companies specialise in collectables. Expensive though, but not as expensive as losing those vinyls in a fire or something. May be a sublimit for an item? Deductible? Accidental damage coverage? Occupancy? Usual stuff to check really.
  16. Another baddie - heard it last Friday for the first time in yonks and went home with Gonzales "Haven't stopped dancing yet" in me head.
  17. I think as you have been big enough to "fess up" to this, an apology won't be neccesary Tone. ANyway as far as I can see it's not you that's hammering this now. The Soul Police are keeping a close eye on things though.
  18. Funny that...on his originals there are no abbreviations and things like "100% genuine original copy" as opposed to a two letter abbreviation........I come from the old school that expects dealers to act with integrity, I am not seeing it with this geezer. I know it's not an original because I've had an original for years, but that's my good fortune and not everyone has time to do internet searches etc. Sebastian. Sorry nurse is calling me back to the ward - I may be some time!
  19. It looks to me like an out of date HOT BOX wants list
  20. Glad to be of service Sean......perhaps he should ask the seller a question "is this the recent press or an original"......
  21. Its now at 102.50 with someone from the UK bidding on it
  22. This is supposed to be about the GOOD stuff he played?
  23. A late post indeed is "Jackie" on the B side of that COFTR 45?
