  1. Oh I better sell up now then Seriously, I fully intend to keep my records, regardless of what happens over the next 10,20,30 years.
  2. ...ok but if you add in Norway, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, USA, we're starting to get a healthy number together....Steve
  3. There are lots of younger collectors out there Dave, a significant number outside of the UK.
  4. I shall pass on your thoughts about their musical comparrisons to my friends down under - like it or not that's how he's seen by them.......Teddy P, or Marvin Junior now you are 'avin a larf with us!
  5. A number of us were really sorry to hear this last Friday - I know it took the shine off of the Yarmouth weekender for a number of people. Our thoughts are with you, the children and Sylv's close friends. Such a tragic loss. Steve
  6. Oh no Sir Will also go through the paper.
  7. Agree it's not as good as Veda Brown (both sides), but it's got a great backing track. vocally it's a bit off. I'm with Dave in thinking he is black, but black country and western singers do exist - Oboe (O B McL) etc...... that must have been a tough act, especially down in redneck country in the 60's
  8. U sure about that? Picture - I thought he was a bit like Clarence Carter vocally? I also thought he was a porno star
  9. Yes D'Arcy it is him, he also wrote it....Steve
  10. There was one at Yarmouth - one of the Swedish guys had it
  11. Wow getting close to £1,000. Great tune but who'se fuelling this demand? it's not that rare!! Must be northern oldies jocks or something
  12. OMG you've unwittingly just uncovered one of Soul Sam's cover up's
  13. Tractors, locals, sugar beet lorries, Biggles, Son of Biggles, Morris Minors, Yokels / Bokels and "the Singing Postman" - oh yes we encounter them all on the A47 to Yarmaff.
  14. So is it a genuine one off?
  15. Nope, be at SouL Essence at 9 pm tomorrow and I'll play it
  16. Absolutely B side isn't bad either.
  17. Deffo a New orleans release, and also tied up with Leo Nocentelli of the Meters etc. Fantastic record btw
  18. I am surprised that emailing them didn't work for you. That normally works for me. Stuart isn't there anymore, but Mike still is. They need someone on this, they cannot afford to lose sales like this....
  19. For many years this was a standard £50 seller, and that's what I paid. I haven't seen it around for sale much in the last few years though. There is an album acetate as well with this track on which may be where the 1,000 comes in?
  20. NO Reminiscing has it's place but it's NOT a big part of my life. Just a happy memory.
  21. Yeah they all know DP as a middle of the road, saturday night light entertainment type of artist - bit like a younger Val Doonican would have been over here That's why they sn***** - I really don't like his version......Steve
  22. Soulgirl, I find myself rather oddly agreeing with you for once. I am not really fussed at all about this. And a coffee bar in memory of the place is better than it just being a wasteland. All jokes aside good luck to them - it is highly unlikely that Mrs G or myself will be visiting this arcade anyways. I think it's the Russ factor that causes such negative reaction more than anything, and this constant desire to live in the past.
  23. Has anyone yet mentioned any of the contemporary releases (at the time) which Richard also got behind first, such as: Eddie Holman, Silvetti, Tavares, Leon Bryant, Bobby Thurston "just ask me", Skip Mahoney, Brainstorm etc. OK they might not have stood the test of time as well as the 60's rarities but at the time they were an important component for many of us.
