I have actually asked Mike why he gave over valuable "Manifesto" space to this interview. As for the fake records, it's certainly something that Ian shouldn't boast about, and it didn't stop with Venecia Wilson or the 4 Vandals either -David Rhodes - actually a pretty good record of his (an acetate in the 70's, pressed in the late 90s and sold off to people as "original copies found in Danny Leake's basement" - more deceipt and rubbish.

"You've got to try it again" - the hardest one by her to pick up methinks, and a gr8 70s dancer.

Well Dave that really depends on your view of whether a 1,700 allnighter is better than a 100 evening do. I have to say in recent years I've enjoyed myself far more at the latter type events where I find the atmosphere more intimate and the variety of sounds (and DJ's!) far greater....but then again I am not someone who is trying to recreate my youth at Wigan so the 1,700 allnighter dancing to Jackie Lee and "Astral Trip" all night ain't really my bag The smaller promotors just HAVE to keep plugging their events, and long may it continue.....

I think as time has gone on...... 1) The number of people collecting vinyl (especially 60s) had declined - remember how it was years ago versus now.....These days a lot of people use CD's, MP3s, downloads etc etc 2) many of those who do buy vinyl are trophy hunters who all want the same "rekkids" 3) there's more to life than records - if you got a choice between having a luxury holiday or buying a record, more people now would go for the former. I think the thing that upset me most about the interview was his vitriol and animosity........he is obviously still an angry man.

Based on the rest of the interview and some of his other comments - it's a re-writeof history, but as I wasn't a Dome regular can't comment on that particular point re the 4 Vandals, but do know it was an 8-2 am type event.
