  1. At last - was beginning to worry about this - very good record and no one appeared to want it?
  2. I think they're both great records, but for different times. "for Real" is a stone classic, and "We can make it happen" is more of your ender type of sound. Amazing info about these records, and it's therefore not accurate to describe the "dinked" "vinyls" as second issues then as some people have?
  3. Keep us updated on progress Sean - we are thinking of you and this awful event. Presumably the loss adjuster has not been round yet?
  4. It is naff but she does say "Hey Danno- Actually, since I collect vinyl, I used records that were cracked or scratched beyond playing". What a waste of glue though!
  5. Guilty as charged your honour, but have done this since the 70's.
  6. Home Insurance isn't really my thing, but I'd suggest for the LPs you use the record collector price guide, as clearly the sleeves will have water damage even if you dry them out. On the 45's not really sure it depends whether it was dirty water I guess. I remember seeing some "Katrina" damaged records on e-bay a while back - looked as if they'd fallen in the local sewage plant! So it really depends how bad the water damage ends up being. You have my sympathies too Sean.
  7. There are certain of us who go out of our way NOT to play something that's already been played. A second spin I could understand if it was enormously popular, but a third spin? Play something else instead.
  8. Fascinating - you learn something new on here every day!
  9. Yes white demos of this are around. Got mine from Da Bowl for £1.50.....
  10. Great to see the Forum back Mike - for a moment there (and it was just a moment) I thought one of the "legal teams" had gotcha
  11. $6,100
  12. Fear not Simon, he doesn't have it
  13. I thought it had been pressed up four times in the UK - but maybe I dreamt that? I think there may be some subtle differences in the deadwax matri.
  14. It's the same copy that's been round and round - SB only ever had one. Poke had it first, Sam has had it at least twice.... vincent might have had it for a while on one of his many comebacks....when Poke sold up or something....Steve
  15. I think the lowest Monarch boots were around 90000 - as Pete says mid 70s. There are also some originals with higher Monarch numbers just to confuse matters.
  16. Ha ha- funniest joke on this thread
  17. Some nice photo's there, and this isn't an anti Wigan thread as far as I can see. Just the thorny old debate about the last allnighter shambles.
  18. The suggestion that DJs should not be paid in full is ballacks. Glad we're agreed about that.....
  19. Yup if you see C Coulter let me know!!
  20. Mine was Andy Davies old copy......
  21. Ah well I've been playing Halo for years m8...it's actually fallen out of the playbox
  22. Guilty - I admit to doing this on a couple of of occasions your Honour.
  23. The best Blowfly thing I can recall is "Girl can I *** in your mouth" Seriously good album track !!! Big Hi to Reidy!
  24. Sorry but this is ballocks! As a promotor you need to cover your costs, and that includes paying the DJ people who have agreed to grace your venue. It's no good saying you don't know how many are going to turn up, you need to treat it as if enough people will turn up and have enough dosh in your old wallet to cover those costs. If punters don't turn up and you lose money, then sorry but don't promote gigs. It's simple really and a promotor should always pay their DJs - end of.......
