Levine Manifesto Interview
I think the thing that upset me most about the interview was his vitriol and animosity........he is obviously still an angry man.

Levine Manifesto Interview
Based on the rest of the interview and some of his other comments - it's a re-writeof history, but as I wasn't a Dome regular can't comment on that particular point re the 4 Vandals, but do know it was an 8-2 am type event.

It's all to do with matrix numbers my friend...... Actually not sure whether it's a boot or Jesse Butler pressed up some more? I am sure John will give us the precise details...

U not heard this Jo??? I am shocked,,,,,,,sort of uptempo funky thing......- Blues & Soul
Not at all surprised - they lacked direction and focus, and I am not sure who they were appealing to in the end......Sad but life goes on!- Frank Popp
I have now heard "Hip teens" having ventured into "youtube". Cockroaches are allowed to do this things with impunity apparantly. As a piece of music it's quite vibrant and although borrowing heavily from other influences it has a certain something (and no programmed drumming) in the same way as I liked Lord Large; I wouldn't class it as northern soul though, and would not wish to hear it at a club- Lynne Randell / Record Collector
I don't think they are so much frightened by us - just plain lazy. They could easily commision a sensible person to write them a regular feature - and on the basis that no one knows everything in the old days they used to give credits to those that helped with prices etc. I always remember seeing Dick and Pete Sniff's names in there as credits. Also old Clarkie etc. "Thanks to Ian" etc. These days they seem to take more delight in waxing lyrical about a Queen Uzbekistan promotional flexidisc, and I am sure that there's not much interest in that type of thing beyond half a dozen Freddie Mercury anoraks. A reappraisal of some of the UK's finest rare soul records would be a good start, followed by "blue eyed" stuff that crossed over, and some label features. I know Chris Savory had a go at this back in the 70s but who can remember that? Anyway tastes change, Chris didn't know it all, and prices have certainly changed. When's the last time you saw a decent write up about the Action label, or even Warner Brothers soul releases? And then they could also give somecoverage to the US side of things where there is an endless supply of topics to cover. They COULD do so much more. If they did I for one would buy it (I often browse through it to see if there's anythoing of interest and find myself putting it back on the shelf).- Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! I actually quite luck Willie Hutch's "The Duck" and view it as one half of a classic double header As for Lou Rawls / Chuck Corby lets be blunt about it, neither is brilliant, it's just that Chuck Corby has more of an earthy feel to it.- Frank Popp
I've not heard any Frank Popp, so cannot really comment at this point, but when the media says Chuck Corby was quite pleased- I think they really mean "flattered" in as much as someone has taken one of his long forgotten pieces of work and done it up - Jees, I'd be flattered if that happened to me, not sure I'd be pleased though without due credit for my work.....- Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! Yeah much better version.....- Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! Overplayed Oldie
Lil Major Williams,? Try 7 years. I actually dropped it for a while but keep getting asked to play it Personally can't stand hearing "heaven in the afternoon" or Charles Johnson these days.- Anthony White - Hey Baby & Never Let You Get Away
D'oh, now I am going to have to dig out the acetate to see how long it is - I know it's longer than the 45.- Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! Overplayed Oldie
Charles Mintz version is far better anyway.- Bob
Hi Tony, make sure you get a copy that doesn't have distortion - most of them were pressed slightly at an angle on the styrene - makes the sound quality a bit 'iffy'. Steve- Ian Levine On Mary Fox Soul Show
Ab-so-lute Lee. I haven't received any offensive emails from these earthworms, and am slightly disappointed- Soul Shack To Finish - Eddy Emondson Takes Over Northern Show On Solar
Sorry to hear this Mark.- Anthony White - Hey Baby & Never Let You Get Away
Please do- Ian Levine On Mary Fox Soul Show
Maybe the Daleks are e-mailing Mark?- Anthony White - Hey Baby & Never Let You Get Away
The trouble with this track is it's too short both on the LP and 45. I have an acetate of it that runs to nearly 5 mins with Anthony ad libbing, roaring and screaming his way through the last two minutes......sadly most of you won't have heard it, cos it's a real treat. Dunno what they were doing cutting him off in his prime like that- Eric & The Vikings To High Fashion ?
....and he was the son of Kae Williams the 60s man.- Shelving For Records
...went and got loads of nice wood from a wood merchant (not the sh*te you get from B&Q etc) and made them - floor to ceiling - took about 3-4 days, but beats anything you can buy. If you've able to make your own, always best. - Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! Overplayed Oldie
