  1. Never back cue my records, you just cue them up two or three times to see when the sound starts, and for that I prefer headphones. Don't like gaps, don't think it sounds professional. Of course you can talk jibberish until the record starts I spose.
  2. well a nice female perhaps?
  3. But it was never a part of my youth - we all dissed it from the moment we heard it. Crap record and always has been.
  4. Followed someone once who was sweating profusely (and who'll remain nameless for now ) - god those headphones were all wet where his ears had been and disgusting! I just couldn't bear putting those wet phones on my ears so that's when I rapidly taught myself the Mark Bicknell approach of "visual cueing"
  5. Nah Sam has problems unzipping his flies these days - he'll never be able to unzip his files Sorry couldn't resist that......seriously I don't think he'll get to use computers in our lifetime He's still a TOP MAN though
  6. Can't open the link on me laptop but thanks......You know the funny thing about that is when Sammy came round I hid a load of really good records that I'd had cut onto vinyl carvers including that one - only problem is I cannot find the originals at the moment They're on the shelves somewhere and one rainy sunday I'll set about re-finding them.....
  7. G'wan gis a clue - which one?
  8. This is a TOP sound and easily the best by them; one that you may be surprised to hear that I am hammering at the moment.....Steve
  9. Erica - expect to pay over £2k Andy.

  12. So who has booted this...let's name and shame the wunka
  13. So with mine that's 3 copies Who else has got it? In fact I think I played it at Cleethorpes this year, and seem to recall Chunky on here also might have it? BTW connected to Eric & Vikings you may not know...Steve
  14. Hi ya Imberboy, Have to recall a conversation that I've had with Sam, on the way back from playing abroad - and that was that when playing abroad we were able to break more new sounds in a one - two hour set than we would ever dare to back home (with the exception of a handful of venues). So I am not sure where you are coming from on this point - unless you mean a lot of UK people seem to revere the dancefloor, on a sound they've heard a 1,000 times ; overseas we kept everyone dancing with "first plays".
  15. He was THE voice of the 4 Tops. Let's not forget some of their post Motown material either - seeing "Just can't get you out of my mind" on TOTP was one of those things that first interested me in soul music as a kid. I still love that record today no matter how many times I hear those words "Call me, were the last words I remember, When the spring became September, and I still got no reply". Top tune in my house! Top singer!
  16. Their other one on SS7 is also good crossover.
  17. Someone buy the Jobete LPs - some good 70s tracks on there that are relatively unknown!
  18. Absolutely right Jordi - an early 90s press!
  19. Most of the people came off the scooter scene in the early 80's it might be fair to say, but in many cases they have progressed - unfettered as far as I can see by scene politics that seems to dog so much of our scene, and of course the "oldies only" culture that is inbred here. Those that are on it now seem to me to be an "up for it" crowd, who just enjoy their music and company. I am sure I've got rose tinted specs on this morning, but that's the way it seems whenever I've been abroad. Steve
  20. Sorry Russ- played at Wigan for about a year by Richard on an "exclooosif" before being issued in 1978/9 on Grapevine. Who else had it then? It was one of the reasons for going to Wigan back then.
  21. Two timin' double dealing' Ah ha caught you cheatin" FANTASTIC oldie
  22. As long as you have places to go with good music, and friendly sincere people it doesn't matter......Anyway the Europeans have a younger crowd, some great DJ's in Germany, Spain, Italy and Scandanavia (don't know about France not been there to a gig yet), so for me it doesn't matter> Although I've been to Oz, USA etc never been to a soul venue there. Steve
  23. I have both green and blue Gator's with FFT on the flip . I always thought this was highly under-rated, and a great sound for today's more funkier edged northern
  24. U sure? I never saw it.....Steve
