  1. Are they boots or legit 2nd issues? Seem to recall they're Columbia stamped?
  2. Presumably then they are running 500 hardbacks, and will only print more if the demand is there? A bit like records then?
  3. Sam is mid 60s. Brian Rae is far older
  4. ...errr featuring one Sidney Barnes on backing vocals Perhaps the "tubbies"can't dance to the funkier vibes
  5. This one goes down quite well in Northern rooms and has done for some time
  6. Assuming you mean the uptempo funky stuff, rather than JB type, I think it is catching on. 8 years ago things like the Hamilton Mvt would have cleared the floor in a northern room. Same with Elipses, mixed Feelings, New World, Joseph Webster, Jerry Washington, Richard Marks (Lose something), Ice etc. They all seem to be doing the business right now. Are they really clearing the floors up north??
  7. that was done in 77.
  8. Run to me My world
  9. You got em all yet Simon? They're all pretty tough to find.
  10. I heard Frank Wilson in the local bank earlier this week
  11. 2 by the Barons
  12. Eddie Pillar woz ere
  13. Whilst I have no desire to take pictures of the Casino Cafe, preferring instead to remember the place as it was, each to their own. And to me this is just another example of what's wrong this this country. I am all for protecting kids, anti terrorism etc, but some of these numbnuts don't seem to have an ounce of common sense in them. In the old days there was something called "discretion", where you assessed the situation and took a view. I realise this is harder now, but it seems as if there's a whole army of people writing silly rules, and an even bigger army of small-brains "carrying out" these "rules".
  14. Gotta say I've never been able to get into this one. Bought from Mr M in the 70's for £2 or something, but....it's not quite there for me. All of my life though is a great record - even if they are hippies .
  15. The triangular ones...just as bad the badges you put on your jacket to say where you'd been
  16. Fantastic track! Godin used to rave over it and quite rightly so, as did Richard. It did get plays on the modern scene.
  17. Right, I have Arctic demos with sanded B sides, ordinary B sides, and blanks - a real hodge podge. I still need "Chains of love" to complete - anyone ?
  18. Bring it along with you tomorrow - I'll have a look
  19. Ironic that, in the sam,e way as we were talking about Tom Tom Washington a few weeks ago and how he made a lot out of Phil Collins. Every cloud etc.
  20. I am going to ask him if it's the rare first issue, or the later (and common) re-press.....that'll fox him
  21. I was in the HSBC today when on the radio they announced next up would be Frank Wilson. I listened eagerly expecting to hear some gushing 20 something witter on about ISA's, Pensions and secure homes for my money, only to be greated by "Do I love you" I did complain to the customer liaison officer (or whatever they're called), and she said "Oh yeah I've heard this before". I am now seriously considering moving to Nat West?
  22. ...and UK Arista 12 The latest remix uses the Arista version. However despite the harsh words it's a classic record in it's own right.
  23. One of your favourites then Martin? Just keep saying to yuourself "it's Spyro Gyra really" and you'll feel a lot better....I'll ask JM to spin it at Bedford for ya
  24. U could do a lot worse than get a copy of Little Reg's book - haven't read it meself yet but it's eagerly awaited
  25. Well the Salvadors has been hammered to death. As for JF, I did reactivate this briefly down here, because it wasn't being played anywhere round here. It might well be top 500, but at the local do's it wasn't even in the top 5,000. As for The Crow, you'd have to ask Mick Smith about that Think Keb started that one off again anyway.
