  1. Think I just about got em all, and there are loads of good ones....though I have never seen the 2nd Reflection 45 or the second Lee Charles 45, and think these might not exist The label printed both b&w and multi coloured "picture of sick" logos in parallel for a long time, with represses etc making it all more confusing. Would have to check, but I think the b&w ones go up to about 11250 ish with the Independents, although there are plenty of earleier "sick" logo ones. Wand was an indie and had it's own distribution company Scepter / Wand. Their distribution was very hit and miss with a number of releases only being distributed in one city to try them out. If they flopped that was it. This goes some way to explaining why some titles are hard as nails to find and others not so.
  2. Think she's on here actually Ken. Unless it's another Louise?
  3. I'd agree with the above, and it's also a better soul record than the Philharmonics too.
  4. No story issued twice with a long slow intro and a better mix on the first one. The first one is harder.
  5. Yeah and not even half of the quoted price - yeah
  6. Yes nice one Gav....
  7. Yes disagree - we'd have no fun taking the p*ss out of people asking £50 for their Pye Disco Demands.
  8. Oh don't you start!
  9. You any wiser on the bread that goes missing?
  10. Jay welcome aboard - you'll find plenty on here. I'd start by playing some of the refosoul clips and seeing what ones you like.....also there's plenty of great cheap northern you can get for a fiver - start there rather than the more expensive stuff - that's my advice.
  11. ...and me, but I wasn't famous then
  12. It was - it jumped up as soon as it started getting plays. Anyway we're hijacking old funkmeister's Tolbert thread.
  13. Yeah that's right - both records were from Ernie Campbell's stable - the man behind the Nurons
  14. Gash first one was £25. Same as Teah Louise. It rapidly became £300 though once it starting getting a few plays.
  15. Yes - the original ones came from Soul Bowl - probably c. 1995 ish
  16. Must admit Godz, Rumsfeld's verbal diatrab was one of the funniest things I ever heard, and the only amusing thing to come from this nasty man's gob....what was it now - "There are things we know, things we don't know, things we think we know, and things we think we know, but don't know....or something like that?
  17. Tierra was originally a Yarmouth spin some years ago - at least 10.
  18. Tyrone Thomas.
  19. 5 what? Songs? group members? Anyone capture the questions?
  20. Gawd someone paid over 25 for a vinylcarver and stuck on label
  21. Oh gawd, on that basis then am I going to have my name attached to a gushing review of a Levine re-hash in the next version then? I don't think I could stand the shame
  22. Reg I put my email address down on your list at the last Luton - haven't heard a peep from you Please keep a copy back for me...thanks, Steve
  23. GREAT funk
  24. Some great enders mentioned already on here guys, - The Drifter, Arthur Farter Alexander, Big Dee Irwin, Johnnie Mae, Archie Drell & The Bells, even Dean Parrish - in fact part of me would like to do a whole hour of "enders" but I know I could never get away with it..>Steve
