Is Your Collection Your Pension?
Answer for me is simple. No because I love the music, and I love vinyl, and always will. To me they're records and tunes I cherish. Steve

How Do They Get Away With This?
Beats me Pete. Ebay is getting more like I-Offer every day.

Vinyl/styrene
Don't keep them in the sun Seriously prefer vinyl - styrene you can't really visually grade and the amount of M- stuff knocking about with needle burn and distortion makes it tricky when buying without hearing first. Also styrene cracks too easily in a packed record box . Styrene wansn't designed to be durable - 7" records were only designed to have a shelf life of a few weeks. DJ's DON'T BACK CUE YOUR RECORDS.

Manny's Finishing Prices
My views on Holly St James are well known. So I won't repeat them. Freddie Lowe £507 - wow!!!

Darryl Stewart Soon To Visit Site
Hi Darryl It's actually the A side of that Musicor title that I prefer - I have it somewhere but cannot remember the title right now as I am not at home - nice mid tempo tune though (still think "Name it and claim it" is the best 45 though). Did you do anything else other than the Wand and Musicor sides and was there stuff you laid down that never got released? Names like Tony Camillo and Anthony Bonjiovi are household names amongst the soul fraternity...Anyway welcome to SouL Source. Steve

Babara Stclair
Craig took the stock from Soul Bowl. Soul Bowl had lots of copies as John bought up all the stock off of Spyro Gyra when they had their big hit on RCA in the 70s and never sold them all. It's actually the Spyro Gyra boys moonlighting

Solid Solution
When the scan appeared on Clarkie's list, I asked him about it at great Yarmouth and he told me it was a wind up - it obviously worked eh Stevie?

Great record I also like his "One monkey shouldn't monkey with another monkey's monkey" purely for the song title!

Solid Solution
oH this old chestnut again...................Clarkie's scan was not a real 45.

Another Ebay
It just goes to show you the best investment any newcomer can make is The Manship bootleg guide. I know it's not perfect, but it should help avoid blatant bootleg rip offs like this. Delta matrix 99000 - Shusssss! Thought everyone including my next door neighbours knew that meant Mid 70s!

Venicia Wilson - This Time I'm Loving You
Thank you for the explanation Ian.

45 Wanted
It is great deep, indeed it is. Apart from mine - which is the one that has been all around the UK in it's time - I know of one in Germany.

Venicia Wilson - This Time I'm Loving You
Well let's face it Ian you have made a number of stories up for various reasons when you returned to the 'scene' and you may be surprised to know that I at least do understand the logic of why you made the 4 Vandals record and disguised it. Same thing with Venecia Wilson, though obviously I objected to your trying to hoodwink people by saying it was an original. I mean I understand you wanted to prove to the world that you could make an authentic "northern record" and didn't want people criticising it because it had your name on it etc. David Rhodes and the hyperbole over that? - unneccesary because everyone says it's a good record anyway, but we've done that to death already. What I don't understand is why you paid Adey Pierce 450 for a record that you made. I read somewhere that three copies were planted in the Wax Museum and Butch or someone found one etc.....but that still doesn't explain why you had to pay 450 for it. Don't answer if it's all too painful, but this is a chance for you to "come clean" and clear up any remaining myths.

E. Rodney Jones "peace Of Mind" - Backing Track?
Yes of course. Thought it was another vocal to R&B time - loosely based - and the other two have confirmed that, so my memory isn't failing. Cool.
-
Venicia Wilson - This Time I'm Loving You
Adey charged you £450 for a record that you yourself produced Ian? How does that work? Not having a dig just don't understand the logic of what you are saying
-
Jim Gilstrap - Run, Run, Run- Ever Booted?
It was styrene and from memory the sound was pretty well gone on the first twenty seconds

E. Rodney Jones "peace Of Mind" - Backing Track?
....or as we say here the lights are on but there's no one home you two have restored my faith in my ailing memory

Venicia Wilson - This Time I'm Loving You
I am not 100% sure it was on Tomorrow. It was on one of those labels as an acetate, and it was def on Pye as Sam has also had it through his hands at some point, but hey Ian can tell us for sure.

Venicia Wilson - This Time I'm Loving You
Back on Venecia Wilson - it's actually a pleasant enough pop record. At the time I likened it to "Downtown" and that's not a put down at all. When I first heard it at the Rocket I was talking to Eddie Hubbard and his wife, and we all heard "programmed strings" in it so not everyone was fooled by the mystique and bravado......but then again you got to know a bit about music to detect that.
