  1. Thanks for the history Ian, it's gone to a good home...... Amazed people still think Rod has it, he hasn't had it for about 10 years now.
  2. Reggie Saddler great price, I got a minter a long time ago when it was unknown, and as Bob says that's a reasonable price....
  3. I understand buying a vg- copy of something genuinely rare - like a Mello Souls, but as said earlier this ain't really rare. Any other daft examples?
  4. But the 4 Voices ain't rare Benji......loads of them out there.....
  5. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Four-Voices-northern-soul-45-Your-Love-Getting-Stronger-V1112-/390413022566#ht_500wt_747
  6. Nice to get a mention on there!
  7. Hey I am over there in a few weeks - whaere are the bargains then?
  8. Steve Plumb does album only sets sometimes. There are plenty in London who don't know what a 45 is....
  9. Not contentious at all. Some records sound better pitched up. Others don't, so the key is to know when to do it. The speed control is there for a reason Andy.
  10. Hold the phone Flanny and in the interest of fairness..... Loads of people post up playlists on here, and often all sorts of old tosh gets played. No one ever criticises any of it, and usually a bunch of mates come on and say how good it all is. Then Pete mentions there's a Levine podcast up, no playlist, just a link - and all of a sudden it's open house to disect every record and start hurling negativity around (Curt Darin, Eloise Laws "half decent" hmmm). If you are going to be an arbiter of what's good and what isn't then I'd like to see you also tearing into a few other playlists on here as well m8...... Afterall no one is forcing you to listen. My last post on the topic too.
  11. Blimee Bob, that means you must have bid $750 for a record described as "g". I am shocked
  12. Yes quite a bit Peter. Her ABC stuff and Invictus stuff is also worth checking out as well as the Liberty album. I think her best are If you don't watch out and Love Factory though. Steve
  13. Starts with Curt Darin, Gifted 4 and Eloise Laws - are you sure?
  14. I don't think there was a third FW. Some hip hop boys claimed to have found one, but I think that was a wind up.
  15. I don't think it's that rare, you used to find it in London, and I had it down as a sort of £8 / £10 record. Maybe £20 tops. Amazed to see what it is fetching.
  16. Quoting my own post now, but I didn't realise.....Ian played Eloise Laws off a 7". I mistakenly thought it was album only.....so another one to look out for, since I like 7s ....Steve
  17. Eloise Laws was a big modern spin as a new release. Played all over the place by everyone who went to their local shop and got one. A very good record, but well known I'd say and certainly not rare.
  18. Oh yeah, not reading properly........thanks for pointing out.... But I am with PD on this - we're there already at some places
  19. Behave Simsy, you are a married man now. Nothing but some jet skis, and paragliding in Myrtle Beach I'd wager. :
  20. Blake that is a rather daft thing to say really if aimed at me since I am not even really "on" the northern scene. What is it with you guys that you have to try and score silly points? Is it that you don't collect vinyl anymore or something?
  21. Errrr Jimmy Radcliffe first time I went to wigan
  22. What? Off a CD??? Heavens above....
  23. Yes I agree. But am still glad I managed to get one (for £10).
