  1. Sven has seduced some of the "crossover" fraternity with this one. Heaven knows why, thousands of better records out there, but that is the market where you'll sell his music Cuboulie.
  2. Jordan, you are years too late m8. Some guy in the US tried it, amassed millions of largely unsellable records then started crying because no one would give him his $M retirement pot. Then there was another dude who was going to buy one of everything and put them in a temperature controlled warehouse. You got to come up with something better man!
  3. Always been a hard one. Soul Bowl had a handful in the 80s and they disappeared in a matter of hours. Since then the odd one has shown up, got mine from Butch, but mostly the copies are weak vg. Someone has got a nice record!
  4. Soul a bit different though, far more music produced and far more famous than doo wop ever was. Doo wop never went global or appealed to younger fans beyond the old timers who carried the flag. But I do agree a lot of soul records will not get sold.
  5. Trouble is for someone like me I buy individual records not batches of records. I've recently been collecting Hob gospel records for research for my book, and been picking up a lot for $5-$10. With the new postage I am going to be a lot more selective.
  6. Oh dear, grey card has turned up today from the PO......Pah!
  7. Yup now getting hit with these charges.....Wow!
  8. Sorry missed it Steve. But I know it would have been top drawer.
  9. Yep already did a quick assessment Dave when I saw your tongue in cheek post. Bad insurance risk, put all the soul artifacts in there and the North Sea will take 'em sooner or later.....
  10. Not surprised it didn't sell. Costs of running would be....a lot! What happens now?
  11. Tomorrow morning Solar Sky 0129 10 am - 12 noon, I'll be playing the first half of a two parter on the music of Florida.....tune in and enjoy over a leisurely breakfast.....
  12. Yes the funny story there is I played it to Sam c. 10 years ago and he shook his head and said "no I don't like that" and we moved on to the next 45. Then he pops up with it a couple of years ago Bless his cotton socks! I've never heard him play it out.....and he may well have moved it on by now.....All good fun.
  13. I too would take some convincing it's not the same guy. Look forward to hearing more.
  14. Nev, It's been played at SouL Essence a few years ago by me, and at European events by a few.
  15. So not the New York group then. I'll find the link Ady.
  16. There is one on ebay. Which Soul Brothers is it? Anyone know?
  17. Most are! Issue wanted here.
  18. Hi Dave I vaguely recall that it was a Steve Hanley interview in Manifesto with someone like Don Davis. Steve
  19. Nice tune with a good ballad flip. Not many in the UK and originally a Keb Darge spin I believe.
  20. Died. he had bad diabetes as well and lost a leg with it.
  21. It was recorded at the same session as "dearly beloved" etc. Quite an interesting story on how it ended up on Revue, but yes from the same session in Detroit.
  22. I've been after a stock copy for some time now, and when I get one I'll happily let my demo go. Steve
  23. Agree Bob, I think some sellers want it both ways. Anyway good to see none of the regulars that bleat on about "tax avoidance" in the UK are popping their heads above the parapet on this thread!
  24. buyer claims through ebay, seller has to claim back from PO......
  25. No, if you have to refund someone because they say they haven't received a packet and try and reclaim from the PO they are only interested in the customs declaration, not an ebay sale.
