  1. Think Chris Anderton soul site has a BUCKNER BROTHERS ..... Great double sider by the way
  2. GREAT PRICES ON THE MELVIN DAVIS AND KENNY CARLTON.....A BARGAIN FOR SOMEONE
  3. Definatelly pre-dates Stafford, I bought this off the 'front page focus' of John Andersons Soul Bowl list circa 75/76 for 85 pence !!!! I know, cos that was the way to build your collection in those days, that and soul packs. Lots of stuff off those front pages of John's lists now go for fair prices e. g. WADE FLEMMONS - JEANETTE £1-25 Pence at the time !!! all the stuff listed on the front page of his lists, he had big quantities of each title. If only I bought multiple copies of each at the time...... But that could be said of a lot of regular sales lists at the time like Manny,s I suppose...
  4. Well technically you played the LIMITATIONS as you generously let me stick it on in your spot, thanks for that. Anyway you played a great nightshift spot, some top tunes...... just the kind of spot I like to do when given the chance Catch up with you sometime for some more banter ATB Hamster
  5. Thanks Also remember playing OTIS LEE and THE CHARADES.... Memories fading these days
  6. Better chance getting CHUCK CORNISH on WHITE CLIFFS to be going on with Ian
  7. Hi mate, No, what I played was just solid quality oldies as you said keeping the majority of the crowd, on the night, on the dance floor. To be honest the only thing out of my set that is a little bit underplayed is the GREATER EXPERIENCE. On another night with a different crowd I would love to do a spot playing underplayed if asked (to be honest I get a lot more enjoyment out of doing a set like that these days) I love the kind of 'Collectors get together' type thing nights and hearing something new to me (which is quite a lot ha ha).
  8. Hi there, I know what your saying here but although its not obvious in his original description I have to defend Billy. I think he means the description of the night as a whole. From early doors to 2pm it was classics & rare to cater for the Anniversary and the crowd at that time were wanting that format played. Andy Gill was on too early really, he played some great rare tunes tho'. Then as it was a 'mini' allnighter the last 2 hours catered for the lovers of 'underplayed' - Swifty from Brighton and local Top collector Frank Webster played some great stuff for the crowd that stayed and they were up for it.. I had'nt Dj'ed at the venue before so on the night I played rare classics as I was on at midnight to keep the floor full. Here's what I can remember playing although possibly not in the right order: - JOHNNY CASWELL ADAMS APPLES EULA COOPER GEORGE BLACKWELL EDDIE SPENCER TANGEERS JIMMY MACK GREATER EXPERIENCE SAM WILLIAMS YVONNE VERNEE JACKIE BEAVERS - I NEED MY BAY LARRY CLINTON YUM YUMS VONDELLS MONTCLAIRS - HEY YOU BERNIE WILLIAMS LOU PRIDE TIMI YURO Great night all round....
  9. Hi there again, Have now looked at my vinyl demo and in the deadwax is L1014A on the 'Manifesto' side L1014B on the 'Some call it love' side. have noticed however that record shows L-1014-B in right hand side printed credits on both sides ? but this seems to be consistent with all the copies that are shown on Popsike as originals.
  10. Yes boot, done by a certain frenchman who moved to the west coast of America
  11. Hi mate, As I quoted previously mine is a rare 'DJ Copy' which is in the typeface on the right hand side credits NO boot demo's exist so I am pretty sure mine is an original and therefore when I get a chance I will check the record out fully and get back to you
  12. Hi again, Also had 2 original Jimmie Raye on K K C over the years. Sure the faint matrix mark in the deadwax was 'AUDIOMATRIX' a New York Bronx stamping masters manufacturers mark. I recognised the very faint stamp from other records i have, on some its much clearer like I had copies of The LOVETTES - LITTLE MISS SOUL - CARNIVAL and RONNIE FORTE - TARX with this matrix. Hope this helps.
  13. James Lewis & Case of Tyme you have is an ORIGINAL Yellow label with red vertical text down the left side record is a Vinyl original Admittedly the more common original which goes for £50- £75 (Forget the deadwax matrix info) The Case Of Tyme (only group name) original is on Styrene only With a green paper stuck on label. Considered the first press and harder to find and goes for £80 - £120 Yellow copy boots are in various formats vinyl and styrene but with Legend text in black Green boots of the Case of Tyme are vinyl I have a copy like yours from (a well respected ebay dealer) in the States but I managed to blag myself a very rare copy with 'DJ Copy' underneath the right hand label credits
  14. All the best Ricky boy, Here's wishing you a speedy recovery mate. All the best From the Hamster man.....
  15. I think you can forget the US demo (unless that was a bit of a tongue in cheek request) as the US demo will cost you at least 3-4 times your 45 quid i'm afraid
  16. I n my own personal experience, not a good idea to sell a record thats quality and not quite had its day. Anyway i'm keeping hold of my Buddy Ace
  17. Hi there Anyone got a nice clean copy of this they are willing to sell. Prefer a demo but a issue is ok too. PM me with price, cheers Hammie
  18. Brought mine off Tim Brown at Prestatyn weekender a few years back for £100 at the time Don't know if its gone up in value ? As there aren't many of these its not easy to value.
  19. Yeah but the Seller clearly states its Northern Soul not a 60's rock/psych record and i'm thinking the bidders are gonna find this pretty unwanted when one of them wins it.
  20. Just to make things worse...... The seller states there is an import charge to be added (looking like £50 plus) just to get an unwanted pop record out of the post office oh dear, oh dear
  21. Are we gonna get a bad outcome here ? A dealer in the States just looking in a british soul valuation book thinks he's got a 'SOUL RARITY' Doesnt realise his copy for sale probably IS'NT a mis- pressed TONY GALLA !!!!! To make things worse, there are 3 bids to date highest bid up at over $200 with only 8 hours to go None of the bidders appear to have asked if its a mis-press (no questions - no answers) I'm pretty sure there have been only a small batch of these mis-presses and ALL are black issues ? Incidentally i dont know what SOUTHBOUND FREEWAY sounds like but i'm guessing it is'nt very soulful and not what these wallies will be happy to end up with
  22. WAY OUT LABEL SURELY ?
  23. Original Promo on Ebay at present dont know what your price limit is but looks like the promo could make $100 plus at the end
  24. WOULD LIKE THE JACKIE DAY/LARRY BANKS 100CLUB ANNIVERSARY SINGLE IF YOU STILL HAVE IT. GET BACK TO ME & LET ME KNOW CHEERS
