  1. Where did it ALL go so, so wrong???
  2. I totally agree, there MUST be an "Affirmative Action Plan" for potential Northern Soul Dee Jay embryos! It's just not fair...bah!
  3. Apart from the orange boot looking dirty and print slightly smudged, the track sounds faster than the proper one, a bit bit like the Duracell Bunny on the skins, man!
  4. And so does the other side "Gaucho Serenade" ....and that's just from memory...ffs!
  5. Let's get one thing correct kids....even the "Not Me Baby" single says taken from the 'Original And New' Goodway LP!!!!!
  6. £10.01p plus post and packing?!
  7. Sardonicism.....
  8. The Vel-Vets "I Got To Find Me Somebody" .....great vocal and instrumentation but it is the backing singers that make it stand out, they appear to get more excited as the record begins to fade.....'whooo'.........what a record.......I bet that studio was buzzin'!
  9. I am impressed......sorry for doubting your credentials, and a boy from Hull too. Anyway I won't take up any more of your valuable time. Ps: Are you as famous as John Prescott or The Housemartins?
  10. It was divine daaaaarling XXX
  11. So, Mr. Dixon you have met Bobby Eli, Weldon McDougall and Lee Andrews......great bit of name dropping........but you are not 100% on The Devonnes.....all fits the picture really.......were you a milk or pencil monitor at infant school.
  12. To sum up.....it was all.....very, very poor! I would have said shite....but may have been in the sin bin?!!!
  13. The only point of this effort was to try and highlight a film that probably so far not got sufficient funding to get a distributor. So the media and business luvvies call in a few favours. Let's get Ms. S to chat on the sofa, do a bit of all encompassing PR for the film and her music/ acting at the same time. We have a ready made set of spacefillers/ extras to ridicule.....and they supply their own wardrobe. The regular employees can pretend they are interested and dress like clowns too. We can shoot some additional footage and it will fill the void and eat up the budget so next year we can expect the "Show" to be retained and we keep our fatuous jobs together with our fat salaries. Or have I missed something......?
  14. I thought it was brilliant, I had an idea that Northern was dead.....long live "Oedipus Soul"! Can't wait until the next edition of Blue Peter, they are going to show how to turn those old Tommy Hunt records into that discreet bowling shirt accessory/ badge that Matt 'Shy Guy' Baker was sporting....... ."ON HER WAY TO WORK ONE MORNING, DOWN THE PATH ALONGSIDE THE BEEB......." Tripe On Now, Keep The Taste(less)!
  15. Didn't know anything had happened.....it was Manchester derby day!
  16. Erm.....alright then.....?????????
  17. Or even NoRthern double siders.....
  18. Feminine Ingenuity and Deceived on one disc...up there with The Cashmeres on Hem as great Nothern double siders.
  19. Like I said it wasn't worth a great deal.......I doubt if it's value has increased exponentially....as say Garnet Mimms. And when I say as an "oldie" I mean before the. advent of the Friday night sessions at Wigan and Mr. M's. It was one of those records you could find on Oldham market....a bit like, err, Garnet Mimms.
  20. On British: United Artists that is.
  21. And it wasn't worth anything on Ember back then......you could buy Garnet Mimms "Looking For You" for £3:00 in those days.
  22. From what I remember about them in an article they were something like 9 students from Detroit who made up the band, one female. I think that Richard Searling did champion it's cause.....however maybe as a UK release as that was his bag early doors. I only ever knew it as an "oldie" at Wigan.
  23. Another daft question but, just what "new discoveries"?
  24. Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells....is that a DJ? Even an old buffer like me knows that "Points Of View" was a big record back in the day. Or am I just trying to make a point?
