Yeah, top tune Mick, covered up as Bel & the Blackjacks - "Don't Stop" by Dean in the early 90's. I thought the show was excellent and enjoyed the good mix of soul particularly the Grapevine Exclusives, Detroit Magnificents - "Is This A Man's Way" (same backing as Youngblood Smith) and Eddie Holman - "Sweet Memories"
Looking forward to receiving the disc, hope you anjoyed the mag?

Heard the same sort of thing from a couple of people and of his apparent arrogance which is why I never dealt with the bloke however, he seems a pretty layed back kinda bloke and has been sound with me in recent communications. Whatever's said he's a popular dude that's for sure!!
HAMMY, any word on a soulerpower gig Mate?

MY THANKS
Just heard the news and I am pretty devastated despite never meeting Dave. Dave McCadden was responsible for putting Soul View on the UK (and beyond) soul map, encouraging words and passing on his contributors to me (Eddie Hubbard, Wayne Hudson, to name but a few) and even adding his own knowledge and wit - which will be sorely missed. We spoke several times on the telephone and often made attempts to meet but unfortunately that never happened. My sincere condolences to Dave's family and all who share the loss. God rest you Mate.
David
I'd have thought with so many people posting with so many different topics I'd have received contributions, absolutely nothing from any of you - please have a re-think and submit any articles via e mail, anything relevant to our scene, it's all for a very good cause.
thanks - I hope?
Lou Rawls - You'll Never Find
New York City - I'm Doing Fine Now
Linda lewis - It's In His Kiss
Thelma Houston - Don't Leave Me This Way
Sister Sledge - Thinking Of You
I am currently working on SOUL VIEW II fanzine and am looking for those of you in the know who could perhaps do soul-related articles for the Zine. Record/CD Reviews, Venue Reports, TOP 10's/20's, Artist/Group/label info, anything relevant to the northern scene. The fanzine WILL (with or without contributions) be out mid-late February and ALL proceeds will go to the Primary School Football Team I coach (Forthview) for new strips and accessories. Anyone who wishes to advertise is welcome to do so and all I ask for is a small donation. Already a couple of big names involved so why not join them and help a good football team too.
all payments for the fanzine and advertising will be cheques made out to Forthview Primary School.
my thanks in advance
David
