  2. Anyone, Any info, Anything??? I heard in the past of some sort of fund for 60's soul artists, did I hear wrong? this is very important to me so please, if anyone can help with any info get in touch via PM, email or reply on this forum, your help wil be much appreciated. David
  3. Need help please. Is there a charity fund for ex soul artists or the like? If so, please give details. David Hope I worded this correctly??????????
  4. CLASS - REAL CLASS
  5. I'll third that (if I can?) and agree wholeheartedly with the 'monetary recognition' part too. A fantastic tune way, way, way .....out of my price range
  6. Too damned right Pete!! I am really looking forward to seeing this, the dancers, the set, hearing the music - whoever's singing, it's about Northern Soul and that's as good as it gets. David
  7. My fault Des - not as clever as you - good memories though
  8. Ever missed out on a record (or records) and regretted it afterwards? A mate sent me 5 copies of Joe Tex "I.W.B.F." asking me to sell three at £10 each and to keep two for myself, I tried flogging them but after one soul night I sent them all back to him as I never rated it!! In a record store in Memphis I picked up - and put down - an alternative version of Johnny Summers's "I.S.Y." on Yorktown and my friend picked it up and paid just $10 for it, I realised soon after my error - to damned late then of course!! Any more for anymore. David
  9. DJ's, where and when did you make your debut and how did it go?? Mine was at the Albany Hotel, Glenrothes, around 1995 and I could hardly place the stylus on the 45 due to me shaking like mad, after a while I settled and ended up having to be dragged away - kicking and screaming!
  10. Sure hope so - way too many overpriced 45's
  11. What's your most treasured soul possession - that isn't vinyl? Mine is a photograph of the late Herb Johnson taken by me when he played a gig in Philadelphia, in a nice frame in my music room. HJ signed a CD for me after the gig and I gave it away to a friend in error - that would have been my most treasured possession. What's yours? David
  12. All records sold - thanks to those who submitted offers.
  13. £250 offer for Tobi Lark - 90 minutes to go
  14. Selling up Mate, had enough, gonna spend my days listening to loads of soul CD's and heading south some weekends to Lifeline, Burnley, U.S.O.S., 100 Club, Middleton, S.H.S.C. and any other quality venues that take my fancy, the need to travel is vital for me, back to how it used to be - know what I mean? Been offered £40 for the Soulful Twins but the way things are going I may consider an offer on the lot - currently awaiting that?
