  7. Thanks ever so to everyone who's contacted me via email and messages forwarded, currently he has managed to track down most at really good prices via one record dealer however, there are some he hasn't got and he has kept all those who contacted him on file and may get back to you some time soon, thanks again, David.
  8. Mate of mine is looking for Disco 12" 's in as good condition as possible, felt he was being (has been) ripped off at a 2nd hand shop so I suggested he post up here. Most are hit 12" 's and shouldn't be too difficult. Brothers Johnson "Stomp", Evelyn King "Shame", Rose Royce "Car Wash", Edwin Starr "Contact" "H.A.P.P.Y. Radio", Frantique "Strut Your Funky Stuff", Leon Haywood "Don't Push It...", McFadden & Whitehead "Ain't no Stoppin' us", Odyssey, "Inside Out", "Native New Yorker", Anita Ward "Ring My Bell", Al Hudson & the Partners "You Can Do It", Chic "Everybody Dance", Detroit Emeralds "Feel the Need", Emotions "Best of my Love", Earth, Wind & Fire & Emotions "Boogie Wonderland"/"September", Chaka Khan "I'm Every Woman"/"I Feel For You", Candi Staten "Young Hearts Run Free", Yarborough & People's "Don't Stop the Music", Michael Jackson "Rock With You"/"Off the Wall"/"Don't Stoop 'Til You Get Enough", "Can You Feel It" (Jacksons). If anyone can help please email me: dmiller6ts@msn.com so as I can forward the email to him. Cheers, David
  9. Could write loads about this once brilliant soul venue even though I have done so in 2 or 3 magazine articles and mentions on this site so best keep it to a minimum. It is sad indeed to see the final nail going in so to speak, even though the thought of it ever making a comeback was remote but a wee glimmer of hope always remained - until now. To say I loved this place would be a massive understatement, the 'Albrighton Family', 'Albrighton Allstars' (DJ's and one of my biggest honours), 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Afternoon Crew', many, many friends who I don't see anymore but think of all the time and the local DJ's who impressed, inspired and encouraged, to those who have now gone, Blue Max, T.C. and all the 'Albrighton Family', love on ya and keep the memories alive. David Miller.
  10. Must admit that when I first saw the result on the auction I was gobsmacked, nothing at all to do with the quality of the tune but more to do with the fact that I raved about this record a good few years back, played it a few times out and about and felt that it never got the recognition it deserved, now it appears it's getting that and much to my annoyance because I don't have a copy now!! A top tune indeed!!
  11. Haven't heard most of the tracks on that list but judging by the feedback and the fact that people bother to put them up tells me that they are all worthy of a spin, my question from all of them is, how does Johnny Daye - Good Time (Jomada) fare at the venues, if at all? Reason I ask is that I played it just last night and it sounded damned good!! David.
  12. Hi Mate, sent you an email, can you confirm if you still have the 45, by text on: 07708749410, I'll get back to you a.s.a.p. David Miller

  15. Hi Cel, I remember Bob's house and the decks, records, flyers all over the room, a crowd of us back after Myself and the McKenzie brothers DJ'd at the Penhryn Old Hall, a memorable night with some of the best soul people we have ever met. David Miller.
  16. Didn't get into Northern Soul, proper, 'til late 1993 so my top three are: 1) Lea Manor Hotel, Albrighton 2nd Allnighter, DJ line-up, music and atmosphere were the best ever. 2) Quayside, Musselburgh 1st Allnighter, top DJ line-up from all over the UK and outstanding venue. 3) Cleethorpes Weekender, Saturday night after the Velvelettes played live, incredible atmosphere. David.
  17. That's a bargain Ladies and Gents, believe me, and what a tune!!
  18. 90's: Carl Fortnum, Guy Hennigan & Keith Money. Present: Andy Dennison, Andy Whitmore, Alan Paterson.
  19. lots of good 'uns mentioned and perhaps not the best of the lot but the Silhouettes " Not Me Baby" does it for me - everytime.
  20. Oh my God!! Haven't been on my pc since the middle of last week and to read of this I can hardly bear it. Max, to me, was one of THE very best, the dude who calmed me down before my very first set at Lea Manor by simply using kind words of encouragement, we had never met prior to that event yet you'd have thought different with the we we interacted. I am truly devastated but absolutely honoured to have met and made friends with such a great man, memories of Lea Manor and Black Horse will stay with me forever. My sincerest condolences go to his immediate family and all of those closest to him. God bless. David Miller.
