  1. Went to a night about 5 years ago and when we walked in the geezer on the stage had a laptop set up. Just as we were walking straight back out his Mrs came up to us and said please dont ask for requests as her old man ( who was on the stage) was dyslexic and couldnt read the titles or artists but knew where each track was in conjunction to the previous track he'd played. A friend of his had downloaded them for him.

    You couldnt make it up.

    Regards

    Kev

Should have asked for Tyrone & Tony - "Operator Please" :wicked:

  2. wasn't talking about unreleased, read the post

Talking specifically about retrospective i.e popular album track being pressed 'booted' as a single

How do you view the UK single release of "Baby Hit & Run" by The Contours ?

Released purely via demand from the northern scene.

  3. Learn how to (walk) uhuh, (talk) oh yeah,

(Eat), I'm hungry, (sleep), I'm sleepy,

You really got me well trained,

    I'm like a (puppet on a string)

You speak to me and then my poor heart a' flutters,

    (Gino)

You call my name and then I melt like butter,

You really got me well trained,

    I'm like a (puppet on a string)

You walk my way and then my smile grows longer,

You touch my hand and then my heart is beating stronger,

You really got me well trained,

    I'm like a (puppet on a string)

You turn me off and you turn me on,

You make me weak and you make a' me strong,

Without your power I couldn't exist,

And I'd give my life by cutting my wrists.

You speak to me and then I light up like a sign,

    (Gino)

You call my name I'll come near you like a rock,

You truly got me well trained,

    I'm like a (puppet on a string)

    (Walk) uhuh, (talk) oh yeah,

(Eat), I'm hungry, (sleep), I'm sleepy,

You really got me well trained,

    I'm like a (puppet on a string)

  4. Who the hell buys all this "tat" from the ever increasing "tat" mountain. The music is, & will always be fabulous but the circus that the Northern Soul Scene has now become I find very sad - the best "memorabilia" is in our heads. I don't need a 24 piece dinner service to remind me that I like Tamla Motown !!!
