  1. Merry Christmas to anyone who is into Northern, Modern, Crossover, Tent, Soulful-House, R&B, Disco, Jazz,Techno, Garage, Breakbeats, Jazz-Funk, Deep Soul, Popcorn, 2 Step, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Ska, Dub, Roots, Ragga. Think that covers everyone. (Knowing full well that somebody will tell me different!) Merry Christmas
  2. Paul Anka - Mac Davies - Jackie Trent - Helen Shapiro........................ all have been accepted - this is a strange scene we dedicate our time to.
  3. Personally Roger I've always found you fair minded, balanced in your opinions & always willing to listen to the other persons point of view. Then again... I believe in the tooth fairy, Father Christmas & that one day Wolverhampton Wanderers will win the European Cup.
  4. Funnily enough - Bill Bush has the same effect on me. Anyways HAPPY BIRTHDAY Master Smith Pencil me in to DJ at his eighteenth birthday party @ Molineux - a night of Crossover & Soulful House - he''ll love it.
  5. Pete is that your son on your Avatar? Looks like he has a Mel Britt in his hands - hope you told him to look after it & nice to see you teaching him some values in his formative years. ps Why does he have better taste than you?
  6. How much money would The Salvadors get if you sold an original? Roughly about the same as if you sold the bootleg - ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Backing track is Fiddlin' Around - Don Renaldo - an old Mecca tune. Not exactly the same arrangement - but oh so similar. The last sentence was for the pedantic ones amongst us.
  8. Has The Orwell moved? Actually saw Russ there a while back with Dean Parrish.
  9. Think it is totally wrong when DJing to have a pop at the preceding jock to yourself. It is just courtesy to thank him for his spot over the mic. Whether you liked his tunes or not is a different matter & expressing a negative opinion on them is well out of order.
  10. Is it me or did they become more soulful after Cliff Richard left them?
  11. Certainly is "Alone On My Own" LP - far easier to get than the single.
  12. Love Love Love - Bobby Hebb Reminds me of when it all started for me & why I love this music - makes you feel good. It was my late mum's favourite - I can hear her singing it now .
  13. Don't think your integrity is in question. - Only somebody who is really honest would admit to liking some of the tunes that you do.
  14. Superb - very underrated version - another big play for Pete Haigh - very popular with the bar staff in The Tower Lounge.
  15. Classic dance anthem - even heard it played at the more discerning northern venues.
  16. Loads of copies on Gemm for next to nowt. 7-12 or LP
  17. Version Pete plays is by Laso on MCA
  18. Yea Pete - Used to have Joleon Lescott as my avatar - what ever happened to him? My family are from their originally - Whitmore Reans- visit the church that is Molineux on a regular basis. BRING BACK "THE LIQUIDATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  19. Won't be able to join in when we get round to the "two-step" postings theme. My computer shuts down after four minutes when nothing happens.
  20. Good tune - reminds me of a Temptation recording with Ray singing in a David Ruffin style. See Pete you've got there in the end - please try not to slip back into your old ways again. Come to think of it we'd all be dissapointed if you didn't
  21. Has the same relevance as the gay topic from yesterday - thought this site was supposed to be about Soul Music. Plenty of other sites on the internet about peoples sexuality - if that what floats your boat.
  22. Can't believe this thread is being allowed. I admit I can banter with the rest of them & like the fun that can be had on Soul Source but I find this totally offensive.
  23. Brilliant - always loved this - Try flipping over your Oscar Perry "Peritone" tunes - some quality hiding there also.
