  1. Was told by an American dealer it was done for the Jamaican scene, (whatever that is??) for the flip side "False Pride" think the term is "Island" music. I bought a boot out of curiosity, to compare to the original. hth steve

  3. The question I'd like to ask is what 20 Motown tracks would you put on a CD for a friend? Just done a motown CD to hand out to some mates at the Prestatyn weekender, this is wot I put on it. Mostly B sides an a couple of album tracks......   5. Mike! It's unissued mate, and if it had come out it would have been on Eddie Singleton's Shrine label, so that wouldnt have helped much either . Fantastic track it is by the way. But if ya want an easy to pick up version then ya cant go wong wid the Four Tops. it's on the flip to their "What Is A Man". Tommy Knight's version is on the Kent Lp Capital Soul , the Awesome Shrine recordings tho! Four Tops version used to get played out up here in Carlisle in the early 90's It's writen by Raynoma Singleton (Gordy's ex wife) prob. the only time the name "Singleton" got credit on a Motown label!   8. They had about 3 releases on ex Motowner Mickey Stevenson's Venture label in 1968 including the brilliant version of "I Dont Beleive In Losing" ...... all the info I kno on 'em, Would love to kno more bout 'em mesell, Are they also The Majors ov "Lost In The City" fame? steve
  9. Mick, seller sold a Subaru earlyer this year, there's a mobly number on item, ya cud always give 'em a bell! . maybe theres a reasonable explanation. plus now they've sold the Impreza, they should be easier to catch! ....... btw Deadbeats went for over 400 earlyer in month! steve

Re the Harold Melvin track, got it sent to me a while back, thought at the time it was a bit iffy.... was sure it was Millie Jackson with a pitch change, so put it thru Cool Edit and low and behold I hear Millie's voice!!! here's the track i was sent originally. Dont know if this is the one ya talkin' bout Steve ps. Harold and Teddy deffo different guys!!! much as I loved Teddy's voice, there was times when Harold far out shone him imho.
  11. Aint the Impression one the same cut as they used for the Mica one? (Mica release also bout 4 secs longer) and is the Mica release a boot?? I always thought it was but kept it as I just love the Roy Wright track. Went for the Jerhart issue with "Tomorrows Hits" on coz I was told these were right and tothers weren't! Is that true?... soz nowt but questions there! steve

  16. Only came out Uk on flip of "Since I Found You" Pye 7N25434 Know it aint on flip of Wand release of SIFY (as I found out!) My all time fav tune by Maxine, should pick it up around 15 to 25 UKP imo hth steve
