  1. no probs mel, if i remember right the flip is slightly better "Peace Loving man" (not the emanuel lasky tune) but still nothing to shout about imo steve
  2. Mel, it's actually Candace Love, it's writen by Eaton, Williams. used to have it, seem to remember it wasn't her best, and certainly not a patch on "Wonderful Night" IMO. The label layout is very misleading! steve
  3. Ooo... and another.... Jimmy Ruffin - I Will Never Let You Get away (re-issue of Farewell Is A Lonely Sound) TMG922 mind the flip of FIALS first time round... "If You Let Me I Know I Can" takes some beatin too! imho steve
  4. It's just so "Ashford & Simpson" at Motown, they really were ahead of their game to me. steve
  5. some brilliant sides there, but how bout stuff on B sides that didnt see a US 45 release, on british? stuff like... Marvin Gaye - Need Somebody (Heard it thru the Grapevine) Four Tops - Cant Seem To Get You Out Of My Mind ( Do Wot Ya Gotta Do) Diana Ross - Baby Its Love ( Touch Me Int Mornin) Earl Van Dyke - All For You (6 X 6) steve

  7. One of my fav. tracks of all time.... also, flip it over for a blinding version of "There She Is" beats baby Washington for me, Love Jimmy's version of "My Ship" too! (best version for me) and again flip it over for the outstanding "Goin Where The Loving Is" steve
  8. Lonely Girl In A Cold Cold World - jean carn - pir 14345 refosoul Refosoul Rare and Northern Soul Clip library My fav Jean Carn of all time.... does anybody kno if it came out on a 7" (anywhere) steve

  10. Only thing bout the demos with me is like most 70's Demos ya only get the one side!... and sometimes miss out on a blinding 'B' side... that's why I'd much rather have an issue if I can, tho sometimes ya pick up what ya can. steve
  11. Love Jean Carn..... what a voice! sooooo underrated to me. Think we need some Jean tunes up! I'll kick off with "Free Love".... been playin this a bit ov late! steve
  12. Got this as a freebie with a Philly Int LP years ago, but cant for the life of me remember which one??? was it Lets Clean Up the Ghetto?? anyone know? steve
  13. How Good Is Your Game - billy paul - pir Not sure if it's been mentioned... but always liked this track, nice real cheapie. Never a big fan of Billy paul, but this is one of his best for me. steve
  14. A brilliant O'jays cheapie worth pickin up is "People Keep Telling Me" flip to "For The Love Of Money" from 1973, off their "Seminal" Lp "Ship Ahoy" (My favorite LP by them) Got this 45 on what must be a re-issue, as it's got a bar code on the label, and says "sony music entertainment"??? steve
  15. Agree! ya can't talk bout Philly Int, without talkin bout Neptune imo. Chess/ GRT mustav been a bit cheesed off when they dumped Neptune in their label rationalisation, then seen what messers Gamble & Huff acheived at Philly Int! some fantastic sides on Neptune "The Land Of Giants" and "The Sound Of Philadelphia" steve
  16. Was Harold Melvin's sides "The Love I lost" and "Satisfaction Guaranteed" prior to TSOP by MFSB? the label numbers are before being 1879 and 2187, with tsop being 2289, or are they taken from the US releases? steve
  17. Don't know bout a reissue, Has the one ya found got a scan? mebs the listing has incorrect number? 4213 doesn't sound like a US number to me. Mebs a foreign issue or something? (not much help I know! soz) steve
