Right... gonna post something by the late (and very great) Jackie Opel Bridgetowns finest, this is the Wirl version of "Tears From My Eyes" I'm still trying to find a propper one of the Top Deck version (got a re-issue, but need a first one) A bit different I know, but what a voice the man had! Dave will probs know all about the man, Me, I just love his voice! and the sax on this (Roland Alphonso??) Dave! you'll have to tell me mate. steve

  16. was thinking the same and typing at the same time as you Wayne, and I didn't notice condition! steve
  17. Ridiculous! agree, a relative cheapie, £50 tops in my book (outstanding as it is) $800 is a joke! but look at the bidders, only three. One at a healthy $33 a new account at $800 and a private bidder at $810???? dodgy!! steve
  18. Big fav of mine too Dave hope they can keep it on YT longer then me, had it pulled by YT a couple of years back steve
  19. He sure has Peter! another fav of mine is "It Was Jealousy" on Hi and London over here steve

  21. Stunning ballad from the great Otis Clay, one of my fav's by him Otis Clay - "Tired Of Falling In And Out Of Love" steve
  22. Superb track from the Major Dave, and spooky!!! was gonna post this last night at end of last thread! see your showing the Contempo remake in your scan Dave, looking nice on that red demo mate! (and what a version!) Dunno who that youtuber is in your link? but he's showing a scan of the Contempo issue, but the track playing is the original Okeh version? (the one I was gonna post) There's too many knobs on Youtube who just post files and scans of stuff they have no knowledge of and obviously don't own imo! The sooner refosoul is back the better! That Contempo release ya got Dave, it's got the trademake strings of the late great Gerry Shurry, loved the stuff he did early 70's at Contempo, a very underated arranger on the British soul scene imo. Another thing worth noting regarding the Okeh release, the label has a small 45, like we associated with all those 70's re-issues on Okeh, but this release on Okeh only came out with the small 45 on the issues (though there are large 45 demos!) a strange one? atb steve
  23. Kev regarding the long version of "Stoned Love". Got this, and it was indeed released at the time on US Motown 1172, but only on the red vinyl demo, hth steve
