Hi Roger, haven't we talked about that UK issue before? I'm sure it was a 70's issue, can remeber buying it when it got released, gave it away when I managed to pick up a Checker copy, never understood this going for anything more then a tenner, always thort it was a real cheapie! (damm fine tune tho!) I really like the flip too... "Umm Umm" steve

Alan, just a thort... this came out Nov 64 and "I'm stll loving you" came out Jan 65, they both had her excellent version of "Go Ahead and laugh" on tother side, maybe Motwn pulled the plug on it to push "Im Still Loving You" ???? must admit it hard to get in any kind of good condition, been looking for years! steve

That's a good point Rich, there are records that sound great played out n loud and dont sound anything played at home! How many times do ya hear something in a venue and think I must get one of those, only to get a copy stick it on the deck at home and think Hmmmm! Other version I was thinking of was Young Turks on Odyssey, dunno why I thort Neon?? steve

not the same tune as O'Jays (O'jays a far better record to me!) Just watched a Brothers Grimm finnish on Ebay at $22 and thort that's a fair price... tis pants to me, also a version by Neon something too which is as poppy imho steve

stuck Betty's "Sad Feeling" up in "Deep n Sweet" steve

Kazia's "I Say Please" on Millage...was making a file of it for "Deep n Sweet" thread, and was wonderin bout the stamp I got on the label, it says "Compliments of William Sirlin Mortuary" Often wondered how the hell it ended up with a stamp like that on it? on Ebay at the mo there's a copy of Kazia and guess wot, it got a similer stamp albeit a sticker in this case. So did old Billy Sirlin have a box load of these that he handed out to customers? and if he did...who dug up these copies? here's a scan of mine, and one off Ebay.... ...so wot's the strangest thing ya seen on a label? steve

Paul, first issue was Sansu 450 with "Sad Feeling" flip and then came out again on Sansu 466 with "Nearer To you" on flip hth steve

....and wot a crackin deep soul number "Sad Feeling" is too, imo. defo the best issue there mate steve

It's not the MFSB version is it Russ?. off the album with Freddies dead the one with the syringe in a coffin on the front! if it is it's a great version, can do a file of it if ya want steve

Hi Roger, great scans there. I asked on the other Epitome thread what the raised numbers or letters actually were? I have an issue and it's hard to see but looks something like "RIC" something, or is it "216" something?? have the same mark on Gail Anderson on "Be Proud" on Salvador! see someone mention Pat & Blenders... must dig that out an see what that's like steve

Yeah think it is, Gail Anderson has the same sort of mark under the label, I cant tell what it is tho! it looks like "RIC" something on me Sandbag copy ??? and "W2IC" on the Salvador one??? Anyone know what the Mark actually says? steve

Very nice on a demo, and a very nice price too if I may say!... least on a demo it'll stop people feeling the label looking for bumps underneath to see if it right or not! steve

Great double sider, flip "Dont You Feel Sorry" is as good imo. an Early Ashford & Simpson, if ya searchin for it, It's Valerie & Nick, on Glover 3003, not a disc I'd part with, but you should pick one up for bout £50 to £75, seen it a couple ov times on Ebay. hth steve

Think Supremes IWAG was promo only on Motown, and the "map" design as well!. as ya say Dave a Motown copy would be worth a four fig sum these days. (even if it is a crap version compared to the Brill Marvelettes, in me humblest ov corse! ) steve

sounds bout right steve, my issue is the same, think the crossed out matrix number refers to Jay Walking label, which was dist, by Soulville, maybe DLR was intended to have a Jay Walking release at first? steve

Got this on Black VJ with oval logo, it's also scratched 66- 8829, but it has the "arp" stamp steve

very nice! always rated this track, first came across it on their "Somewhere" LP, It also apears as a miss-press on the other side of one of the issues of "Here She Comes" I think? steve
