  1. Tickets landed today for the Little Anthony concert, thanx Andy and Tracey, super quick service there. Just a point tho, there's no mention of Little Anthony on the tickets? If I was reading correctly earlyer in thread, you were sayin' you may sell further tickets for the event for people to watch on large screens, just wondered how this would work, How will access to Little Anthony's perfomance be policed. having just got tickets that only state "Northern Soul & Motown All Dayer" can you confirm these are indeed for access to see him live. Just to say again, congrats to ya both for pulling this off. steve
  2. ya kno jimmy boy, in my humble and non expert opinion, ya baiting of Ian Levine is going nowhere! I mean, come on lad...look at ya self portrait in ya avatar!! your so obsessed with the man ya even beating yourself up to look like him!... take a tip from an old man.... get yaself a healthy interest... try some of that good old soul music.. and just be yourself!... and leave Ian to carry on being himself. One man's Northern Soul may not be another man's Northern Soul. a dear departed mate of mine once said "I don't care what music you're into.... as long as your into your music" steve
  3. Charles Brandy "Cant Get Enough Of You"..... for the fantastic Beat Ballad flip that just oozes soul "Without Your Love" heck! I'd even settle for a demo! steve
  4. have both Drifters on 45 Dukesy, great early beat ballads.... "Please Stay" is on Atlantic 2105 (backed with "No Sweet Lovin") "Land Of Make believe" is on Atlantic 2216 (backed with Vaya Con Dios") both should be cheap as chips mate Steve
  5. I'd av thort bout 20 quid tops. It's got a great beat ballad on the flip btw "Mr Heartache" which was the side i originally bought it for. steve
  6. It's styrene taffy..frankford Wayne scratched, vinyl would be nice! steve

  11. Looking forward to Mr T tomorrow Ian, immense respect for the man's taste, be another blinding sunday soul afternoon. "finger snapping, knee bending, foot thumping, wrist slashing, pant wetting, head nodding soul!!!" ..... sounds painful mate! but I know It'll be the Biz!! can recommend Ian's sunday afternoon shows..great music and great banter steve
  12. with you on what ya say re "Live Up", and the others ya list, Would also add to the ones already named in thread. "Ive Got To Have You" from their Ric-Tic days as class Detroit down tempo soul imho would also add their last 45 on Soul label "On A Brighter Side Of A Blue World" from 1970, this brought some of the old Ric-Tic team together with the group, namely Norma Toney, Hermon Weems, Bob Hamilton (?) and Al Kent for this heart felt mid-tempo masterpiece. steve
  13. ...and flip "Pinpoint It Down" for "I Feel Like Im Falling In Love Again"...WHY! after Motown took 'em with the Wingate deal, did they do next to nowt wid em???? just as they did nowt with JJ Barnes!!! CRIMINAL! in me humblest! steve
  14. the main man is the late great "sweet" James Epps.. perhaps one of the finest in my book, an awesome singer. check out their other 45's on Ric-Tic esp. "Goddess Of Love" and "Just The Lonely" (flip to the brill "Cant Stop Looking For My Baby" mouthwaterin! in my book wolfie steve
  15. Brill double sider too Chalky imho would have thought it was one of the harder Ric-Tics too! Hesitations is imho one of their best, around £25 (if ya lucky) but feel it will rise in price. just seen it books at twice that? steve
  16. Eddie Hubbard had a minter for sale a couple of weeks ago on here at a real nice price too! (that's the Herman Hitson) steve
  17. ..are we talkin bout the one that was titled "Greater Love Has No Man"?? steve
  18. seen that, Great crossover feel to it... see seller put a full file of it up to listen to!! steve
  19. ya right 5514 and 5531, would say 5531 best to get as ya get "Now That I Found You" on flip, making it a great double sider.
  20. Motown started using the 'F' suffix on all their labels around the early 70's. don't know if it had anything to do with the finalisation of the relocation to west coast and the closing of the detroit setup! steve
  21. Agree! fantastic mid tempo/deep soul flip...one of the best, also agree, good price take it it's a spare Eddie, couldnt imagine ya letting this go? steve
  22. As ya say 30sec intro on a Northern record not easy, but give or take a sec Dee Dee Sharp's "What Kind Of Lady" is one, and if ya dont count the ramblings and Ooooerrr Brooks and Jerry is almost a min before they actually start singing....no wonder they made part 1 and part 2 (and part 3 if they had time) steve
  23. Hi Micky, what date in 2006? I have a few of Shaun's shows saved form 2006 but not a lot! ya wanna try a shout on Shaun's thread on EMS. Zane's being doing the download honours for a while, but not sure if he's got em back to 2006 steve
  24. here's another issue design slightyl different to any of Sabastian's five, we can start a spot the difference competition agree with comment bout 40 to 50 quid value wise steve
  25. On New years eve bought a record of Soul Searcher Records via email. Today (bearing in mind we had New Year's day yesterday) the record landed! I bet Keith aint even had me cheque in the post yet! But he's sent me the record straight away, that quick, that if it were still crimbo I'd av thort Santa had brought it! just wanna say that often on here when sellers are mentioned, it's a gripe. so just wanted to praise a top seller! thanx Keith steve
