  1. Brilliant track! hope ya got an issue mate! Great double sider, just love "Aint Nothing Like A Little Lovin'" and play this side more these days steve https://youtu.be/XLzY28l4KtQ
  2. As with any recording by Linda, I loved both of her Netune 45's Kev, and on the flip of the one ya posted "That's When I'll Stop Loving You" you had her great take on the old O'Jays tune, again it's that man George Kerr bringing out the best from one of the best Fem. soul singers of all time.... god bless her! steve https://youtu.be/JymfTDdAPKU
  3. Real nice price on Vont Claires mate! this track needs some serious plays imo, and Four Shades is a great double sider too steve
  4. I think anything by Otis Leavill(e) is a must! superb choice. Don't think I have ever heard a bad track by the man, and if ever anyone deserved a long overdue comp. of his work it is this man. Otis Leavill Cobb, born in Dewey Rose, this native from Georgia was a Chicago legend to me. A boxing buddy of Major Lance as well I believe? steve
  5. nice cheap one from The Magic Tones, and somewhat overlooked I think.... steve https://youtu.be/wJt7M6qPj5o
  6. Fantastic stuff! thanx for posting this up, gonna watch all these steve
  7. ..and tother side , bit of Detroit does Chicago! steve https://youtu.be/tShvUJ0Bjr8
  8. Fantastic track this, came out twice on wand, and if you like a stunning beat ballad go for Wand 1197 with "He's No Good" on the flip steve
  9. think it was $10 mate...... nobody bid on it. and only books for £25 so bout right price I paid in my book steve
  10. Great thread with some brill tracks, here's one that seems to have been on my deck a lot lately.... real cheapie too, but under 2 mins.... need it to last a bit longer for me. (not sure 'bout embedding links...hope it works!) steve https://youtu.be/vX5m9Kc8UnI
  11. yup, like The Volcanos
  12. Re-issue mate, got it on the the red later design, if it had been on Orange then think "Harthon" would have been curved. noticed seller did say it was the 2nd issue hth steve
  13. Superb tunes ya played tonight Eddie, loved 'em all! ..... well done that man! steve (ps. Tina sez thanx for Geni )
  14. Excellent! sounds good Eddie! we'll be tuned in mate Steve & Tina
  15. "Tamla Motown" signed off with it's last "new" release in Oct 1976 with Jermaine Jackson's " Let's Be young Tonight" TMG 1040 then as a celebration of their past chart success they released 12 double sided "Hit Singles" TMG1041 to TMG 1052 before, as Pikey says starting the "New Era" of Blue Motown with Tata's "Try Love From The Inside" TMG1053 steve
  16. Great show Bob, I'm guilty of not commenting on your shows, but when I get a listen to them, I'm always impressed with the quality of records you pick. Keep up the good work! Steve
  17. Chalky! I'm surprised at you! going so off topic like that, and you a mod too! in ans to the topic starter, it's Jimmy Barnes "If By Any Chance" on Sue, one of those popcorn thingy's I supose? mind I had to watch the vid a good few times just to be sure... honest! ...and Chalky!... agree with ya! There's some strange folk out there on youtube!
  18. You're more than welcome Gary, the stuff you have put us onto over the years mate steve
  19. "Gimmie Some" is on Peri-Tone Paul and like "I Got What You Need" it has "Come On Home To Me" on the flip steve
  20. Only record I know by this lady, anyone know of any more by her? steve
  21. None other than Herb Ward, superb soulful track, wish Herb had put out more stuff then the handful he did steve
  22. Tyrone Ashley's (AKA Sammy Campbell of Del-Larks fame) 2nd release on the label, often wondered who Sam is dueting with? been told it was a very young Eddie Hazel the late great guitarist with Funkadelic?? dunno if that's true? steve
  23. With ya on that Charlie mate, someone on ere was dissing Billy's "Teaches Old Standard New Tricks" LP but for me the great man just took a classic and put his inimitable stamp on it! (ps. looking forward to the catch up at Wkey! steve
  24. Off topic here... Pete Ludlam's lists, remember them well, you used to get some real good cheapo bargains off pete, if you trawled through his fifty or so paged lists, ending up with purple fingers from the ink coz he printed 'em on an old "bander" hand cranked duplicator!!! often wondered if he still does them lists...starting at 20p each or 6 for a quid! ...Anyway back on Topic... Adore the late great Billy Stewarts work...so unique. His last 45 (I think) put out just a few months before he was so tragically killed when he drove his car into a Nth Carolina river in Jan 1970 was his rendition of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" here's the 45 edit, but the album cut is better coz its longer. also here's a Canadian label scan.... steve
  25. Sad news indeed! His involvement in classics like, Erma Franklin's "Piece Of My Heart", Loraine Ellison's "Stay With Me", Garnet Mimms "Looking For You" and so many more, mark Jerry Ragovoy out as one of the greats in my book But for me, Jerry's finest "pure" Soul moment has to be Carl Hall's "You Don't Know Nothing About Love" an awesome slice of soul music! (which he also cut on Loraine Ellison) "Jerry Ragovoy".... one of those names ya keep coming across on great records! RIP steve
