  1. would put issue above demo any day Dave.. a quality 2 sider, and one day "rosy's theme" will get the recog it deserves, played that side a few times at Red Bar and Morecambe over the years. Steve
  2. Fantastic! just registered John Steve
  3. Just for info there is also Blue issue of "I Can't Stop You", and it hasn't got "re" in the runout groove. just "68-3155" steve
  4. was always lead to believe it was a superstition thing... number 13! Golden World too! (no 13) and Revilot, Magic City, and Impact as well?? mind at Ric tic they took it a bit far, there's no 126 either is there? (2X13) or is that a load bollax?? steve
  5. Dave, 15 is Sue 16 isTuba (i think) 6 is grandland Well Done That Man! all 3 correct.
  6. Sublime Kev! nice pick mate Steve
  7. Cheers Dave, top info mate! didn't know the Dells connection?? Steve
  8. With you on them Kev, and both came out on 45 too flip of "I'm Glad I Waited" is the super sublime "Why Did I Lie" and flip "He'll Be Back" is the snappy dancer "I Wanna Be Free" and talkin' bout "Get Ready", well flip that on ya got one of the most beautiful soul ballads ever for me, "I'm So Alone" a haunting fingersnappin' slice of perfection! ..and another great double sider of theirs on Minit... "That's The Way" / "There's Got To Be A Way" are all them sides on the Lp Kev? coz if they are, then with the four 45's, must have most of the album? only three sides of 'em mention being on the "I'll Be Back" album. steve Players output on Minit was all top notch to these old ears steve
  9. great news Mike, your ongoing work with all this is very much appreciated. Steve
  10. "Hold Your horses" on Moira, same as "Stop That Girl" also Jimmy Clark, on flip ov "Sweet Darlin'" also the inst. on flip ov "I'll Be Your Winner" ... "A Girl's World" aint it? steve
  11. Derek, this paticular sale of Hi-Fi- White was talked about a couple of months back. It sold for $809 having three bidders on it, a healthy $33, a new ebayer with $799 and a "private" bidder with $809 the new ebayer has 2 bids and 2 bid retractions? Strangely no feedback was left either way between seller and buyer? If someone had "paid" me $809 for a $50 record, I'd have left glowing feedback for 'em, in the hope the divvy would come back and spend more! I suspect the sale never went through? (well not for the $809) As Bob says the seller grades real good! I've had a few things off him and had excellent service, a top seller! This is where popsike becomes a joke imo. If this was the only listing they had for this record, then some not knowing it, might think it was rare. Steve
  12. right bag ov kak that Martin! classic example of don't mess with perfection imo! Got the original 7" but only the 12" is worthy of playing out. You got the one with the stripped down vocal edit too? hearing Robert Owens voice on it's own always sent shivers up me spine. "One word could wash them away. Their drippin' and droppin', and droppin' and drirpin' Tear after tear over here over here" steve
  13. Just for info. did also come out on an EP in the states. called "Carryin' On" (from the LP) Cracking track btw! Steve
  14. What about Lord Creator "Such Is Life" on Randy's? got one of those re-issues from Japan (and they seem hard to get now?) But how hard is the original? Steve
  15. Superb stuff Zane! all your efforts over the years recording shows has been appreciated so much mate! Will be good to re-visit some of Shaun's early shows, for indeed it was through the man that we all got to meet. Remember well that first Morecambe weekender and how so many friendships were forged. Friendships that last to this day and beyond Steve & Tina
  16. Superb selection Steve, a lot new to me! loved Spice (as seems many do!) Ash Soul, Eunice Collins, Monticellos (forgot how good this soiunds!) Fugitives (still after a decent copy of this) Ordells, and that track by Egyptians. You got taste for sure! Steve
  17. Brian, ya probs know it's the flip of "You Are My Sunshine" (popular oldie) watch out for demos tho, think they single sided without "Nevermore". There's one at $50 BIN.... bit overpriced to me? ...anyway get Little Ben's version (also on penny) much better imho Steve
  18. Superb Dave.Yeah Jimmy Beaumont's "I Never Loved Her Anyway" that man Mike Lewis, been checking and picking up stuff that him and Stuart Weiner did. they had that knack of the "beat ballad" way, and not in a Dean Martin way at all! Stoppers on Jubilee (Beat Ballad?, Mid Tempo? or just Mid Tempo Beat Ballad?) and Jackie Taylor are two that have the right ingredients for me. Steve Stoppers - "Come Back Baby" https://youtu.be/I-Yub8S0gFM Jackie Taylor - "Walkin' Back" https://youtu.be/oqEolQMWlbU
  19. Bahamas rather than Jamaica Bob. Pete's right, the Julmar recording ain't too good a quality, think that was from 68, not sure when the Lundy issue came out? was it recorded in Nassau? Deena Johnson was 1965 right? and different writing credits? can never work out which version I like best? love 'em both! Little Anthony's "Call Me The Joker" superb beat ballad from the master... Teddy Randazzo, and LP only I believe, off the superb Veep LP "Payin Our Dues". someone once told me they had seen it on 45 on UA, but don't know about that? Steve
  20. Roburt, thanx for the info, answers why I've never been able to find any 45's by Little Joe! If I remember right the Marble Arch LP over here did credit the artist to the track, 6 by Little Joe, and 4 by Otis. I often wondered if Little Joe had material released under a different name? atb Steve
  21. Roburt a little off topic here, but regarding Little Joe Curtis, I've never come across any of his singles? only stuff I have by him is that LP of him with Otis Redding "Here Comes Some Soul" (mostly Little Joe tracks) an Alshire recording released over here on the budet Marble Arch label, have you come across any of his 45's? love the guy's voice. Back on topic, I think the track you on about was on the LP as "Bring Back My Love"?? or am I getting confused (as usual ) Steve
  22. Bobby Patterson's "Sock Some Lovin' At Me" on Jetstar to add to the list Roburt steve
  23. Great stuff Roburt, very interesting, thanx for all the info. Regarding Marie's "You Lie So Well" 45, For me it is coupled with one of her finest, the sublime "A Little Too Lonely" steve https://youtu.be/-N7ly2lsXm8
  24. stuck on the re-issue of "Love Makes the World Go Round", wonder if this was a happy mistake? great different version of "I Can't Go On" mind the original Carla take is brilliant anyway! (both sides) Deon Jackson.... whatever he released was stunning in my book. I'd have put £20 on it, but it's something you could pick up for a fiver if only listed as a re-issue of LMTWGR. steve
  25. Rog, if you have any contact with Tom Moulton, he asked for, and was sent high res scans by the gadgy who had the Venezualan copy, He may still have 'em mate? steve
