Essential stuff Miff a great builder, perhaps the best use of chord changes ever! flip of mine is "Who Is He (And What Is He To you)" tho? are you talkin bout the UK issue there mate?

Cracking track this Ritchie, Yvonne Fair got propper balls on this one! she seemed very underated at motown? got this and her exquisite "Stay A Little Longer" that came out on the Soul label. She did the business again with her take on Kim Weston's old "It Should Have Been Me" too!

Glad ya liked that other Mike Kirkland track mate
Zay records was a small early 70's label started by Jesse James and his manager Hosea Wilson I think, along with a another small label Zea, inbetween Jesse's 20th Cent stuff. Jesse had a couple of outings on both labels including this great little crossover cheapie
Jesse James "I Know I'll Never Find Another One" Zay...

..... and indeed this superb souful track on Zea (blows me away this one! what a talent the man is!)

Has me in tears too! even more so when I think that i'll never be lucky enough to get my hands on a copy!
btw Lorraine! there's another record that's up there for me as definitive Soul, that you and Jack Ashford wrote and produced..... Ray Gant's version of "Don't Leave Me Baby"
steve
Rex Garvin's version new on me Dave, really like this, got the Dynamos version which I picked up for a couple of quid, certainly wouldn't pay anyway near book price of £50 for it!
Is Rex's version a hard one Dave?

It was produced by James Brown, one of the writing credits "D Bryant" is Donald Bryant the singer (well one of 'em) been lead to believe co-wrote by James Brown? but on the writing credits is an "E Brown" too? wonder if it is a coincidence and they are members of the group along with Donald Bryant?
steve
Determinations "Bing Bong" but what about the other side!! "Girl Girl Girl" stunning group harmony for me, making it an essential double sider
