  3. Otis Leavill, Billy Butler, Carl Davis, Gerald Sims, Sonny Sanders..... quite a list of Chicago talent there Dave, and £1.50!!! cost me a wee bit more than that, ten times that I think? Quite a hard one from the man too, and a great double sider as well steve
  4. Real classy track "Circle Of Heart Breaks" and on the flip one of my fav. tracks by Betty "The Best Girl's Don't Always Win" steve
  5. a record I've been playin a lot over the last few years Naturelles "Love Has Joined Us Together" and the flip side, which came out again on Venture 633, now until recently I thought the two releases of their more commonly known "Show Me The Way" were the same! but the release on the earlier number (Venture 609) is different!.... and imho opinion better..... so I'm posting both sides of Venture 609 release... (the other cut actually The Natura'elles is also on youtube I think) steve ps.... a very happy New Year to everybody!! Naturelles "Love Has Joined Us Together" https://youtu.be/pM1iLlQKQAw Naturelles "Show Me The Way" (longer cut) https://youtu.be/lfCO7ZA49-M
  6. Great to see another thread started, an already some classy classy tunes! steve
  7. hi mate, mentioned back in post #18 Norman Meade was a pen name of Jerry Ragovoy steve
  8. What a voice, and what a performance Martyn! and an apt performer for this time of year! I believe Merry got her name from her folks as she was born on Christmas day. This southern soulstress should have had so much more aclaim imho. Here's one of her first recordings from 1963, a great beat ballad fav. of mine, written by David Gates of Bread too! Merry Clayton - "Nothing Left To Do But Cry" steve https://youtu.be/vcUvn7k0hDE
  9. nice little cheap crossover tune... Imperial Wonders "Trying To Get To You" https://youtu.be/nNzHBIQZ854 steve
  10. I used to think Pat Thomas was first because of the credits on the label, but for defo Pat Thomas was recorded in sept 1964. Baby Washington I'm sure was released in feb of 1964? the credits on Justine's version are Norman Meade as well as Chip Taylor, Norman Meade was a pen name of Jerry Ragovoy, I just think Jerry re-dun it on Pat later that year.... might be wrong tho? steve
  11. Yeah, like the guy's honesty! "This record has been played to death -- but has no cracks. Both sides show TONS OF USAGE, but it looks like it will still play OK -- but possibly rather scratchy." stopped me putting a snipe on it! steve

  15. Nick, I've got 10964 and that's "You Ought To Be In Heaven" for defo. (would have thought YOTBIH, was the A side?) steve
  16. four different variations "All Turned On" that I Have, Still think this is one of the finest Inst. tracks, remember when "Hungry For Love" got flipped for this one. steve
