  1. Thinking back Dave, who would notice in the Palace (The Orbit) if you did drop your beer. I was always more worried about the flying chairs aimed by the deeside lot on a bank holiday weekend. Patti Was a great DJ and probably one of the first serious female (???) DJ's on the scene in the UK, but the dance floor was sh*te more like the paddling pool on Rhyl prom some nights. The dance floor at the dixie was far better but not quite the same atmosphere, James Aspinall was a good DJ but he could never match Patti for style. Even when we flirted with punk for a couple of years, and the Alarm (then known as the toilets) played there quite often she would always throw in the N Soul at the end of the night - How did she do it - Top DJ!! QOF XXX
  2. Is that so you can't see how bad you are

  7. So you were the one in the palace who made me look like a good dancer, - Made a fool of myself in the Palace many times dave, and in the Dixie and probably up and down the North Wales coast and still looking like and idiot but down south now anywhere they let me in at 40+++++++ but at least you only did it drunk I do it sober as well!!! LOL QOFXXX
  8. Good Tune - It's in my box - me and mr smirnoff spin it at the "In My Front Room, When P*ssed" gigs
  9. yeh that's wot made me think of it after all these years when I heard it the other morning at 6.30am really set me up for the day. (unitl I got into work) QOF
  10. IMO (not that I am known for ever having one ) Another sound that although not NS always make feel good is "Be Young Be Foolish But Be Happy", The Tams - (Perhaps it's just wishful thinking QOF
  11. Unfortunately have a pressing engagement with a pint of Hooky Dark at 9 and only just read your post - but brain usually works better after a couple of pints - could be the early hours before this one is worked out, and then it could be utter BULL But there again who cares after a few pints and "What is the meaning of life?" QOF
  12. I find some peoples' postage charges excessive (actually didn't bid on a record last night as the postage was 2.75). I charge 1.50 for a 7" which I think is fair taking into consideration actual postage, about 70p - packaging etc it also just covers my listing fee/sellers fee/paypal fees, and as I am currently selling off very bottom of the market stuff i.e. 70s tamla which I aquired the records only usually make a 50p - £1, if I charged any less for postage I would be operating at a loss. In the end I probably only make about 60p profit on a record. Have noticed that more and more people are charging a % for pay pal. Not sure what I think about that, as it is a efficient secure service ok it does cost but you don't have the hastle of having to bank cheques/cash postal order etc - I find it worth the small % to use it from a sellers point of view. QOF
  13. I Got A Feeling-Barbara Randolph In Orbit-Joy Lovejoy Love Love Love-Bobby Hebb Soul Time-Shirley Ellis My Man A Sweet Man-Millie Jackson Free For All-Phillip Mitchell These Things Will Keep Me Loving You-Velvelettes That's a relief I only have one of the afore mentioned records in my box and that's joy love joy - but that dates back to my life in Rhyl in early 70s when our local club was called the Orbit - so it's a must for me - happy memories. I am also glad cos I could feel another morph coming on from QOF to QOR to QOH I would see myself more as a Prada than a Louis Vitton or Gucci far more classy
  14. But it's such a good one and I like it!
  15. WOW I'm impressed with the math thing!!! I can't even count how many Leffe's I drank at the wellie on sat!!
  16. May I at this point salute my Mr Soul _ Gary Beattie. Got me into norhtern in about 1972 when he worked for my mum as a chef and used to DJ at St Asaph youth club_ GOd loves ya gary and thanks for bringing soul into my life KempiXXXXXX
  17. The more youngsters that come onto the scene the better. I took my son to Prestatyn this year (he's 24) and he loved it. I feel that in our home we played a great variety of music while he was growing up, mostly soul but we had our punk years and rock years, our new romantic years and thanks to that he has a very open mind to all types of music and now DJ's dance/house type stuff (which I hate) along with SKA, plays guitar in a rock band and has a great respect for the roots of soul within all these types of music and has booked time of work for Prestatyn next year. Check out his almost Weller hair cut - my god I've spawned a MOD - only joking you modernists out there loves ya really
  18. It's prbably only a temporary morph and still getting to grip with what's 21st centuary northern never mind having to brush up my rock as well, I am only human. This leather thing is great though - those curry and beer stains just wipe away!!!! CV Chrissie O Occupation - Very temporary rock chick Life's ambitions - to save the world from shit music The person I most admire - Sharon Osborne (Well you have to really, with a husband and kids like that, bless her) Don't worry the QOF will be back as I said this is only a temp morph and part of my therapy!!
  19. Hear Hear!! Geoff Ware played Linda Griner (good bye cruel "whatever") for me last night without me even having to ask, just knew I was there and played it - probably to stop me from nagging him (well that's what his wife Pat said anyway). Top DJ knows his audience(are all in their late 40s)!!!
  20. As you can see I have morphed into a rock chick and I say lets hear it for Blaze of Glory, Bon Jovi - I can now see the first public flogging in Bedford on the horizon - you've got to find me first
  21. Don't start me off again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Now you're confusing me - here I am trying to bring myself into the 21st centuary after years in the wilderness and you want to bring back candi staton HELP!!! But back to your thread----- Everything in my very dated box. Could sell for a fortune and p*ss off to the sun! But you'd all miss me "NOT" QOF (oh you might like to try brining my signature tune back - but i wouldn't want to see you publically stoned - hard rock type things not chemically induced stoned. Mind you there hasn't been a public flogging in Bedford for a long time could be fun) XXXXX
