  2. I'll take the anglo copy
  3. How can I put it - I went to Prestatyn this year on my own, my family live locally so that was a bit easier i suppose. I didn't know one person, got the pass from someone on the forum who is now I hope a good pal, and the feeling in my heart when I walked into the victoria bar and heard that music was "I'm Home" Nothing ever will ever be able to reproduce that moment for me. I dont even think the first time I ever went to wigan was as emotional as I was 15/16 and I didn't realise how important it was at the time to be part of something so incredible. lol QOF XX
  4. Still thinking about it after your cutting remarks in your reply to my question. Next time you could try using these new post-it notes light adhesive, won't ruin your bay city rollers label then, cos i know it's special to you. tee hee QOF XX
  5. Think will put a snipe bid in would realy set off my collection - fingers crossed i may be lucky bin lookin for this for ages:ohmy: All I can say it's a good job it's rare cos won't have to listen to it, if it was the last copy on earth would buy it and make an ashtray QOF XX
  6. I agree with all the comments as above - there is no such thing as an ex soulie, once it's in your heart (or your feet) there is no escape. It's not just the music and the dancing it's about the people and the whole scene, the whole feeling you get at an all nighter, or any night come to think of it if the music and the poeple are right. It comes as a package and their are not many other music genres that are like that or have lasted so long. Shouldn't think there is anyone here on this forum who could put their hand on heart and say that they have never listened to anything else. But what makes you a soulie is that you just keep coming back, the pull is so strong - just surrender to it and enjoy every moment, you know it makes sense lol QOF XX
  7. I totally agree about the attitude always trying to get the younger ones i know to come - took the son to prestatyn and after about an hour there he was on the dance floor and he's not the most confident of people but he realised no one cared what he looked liked as long as he was enjoying himself. QOF XX
  8. A young friend of mine who is 22 and full of confidence and will dance to anything, has been to a couple of small dos locally and last night she was trying to explain to another youngster what it was like - she described it as middle aged people doing "HARDCORE" and she wouldn't dare try it, so they're coming to the next Bedford (ex Kempston) night in june, I hope they get enough confidence to get OOTF. I won't reveal who they were talking about being hardcore cos he's bigger than me and may read the post. (you never know he may be flattered, but toooo risky) QOF XX
  9. Not from me!just better than him thats all. link
  10. I agree with you and if it helps people get over dance floor nerves good luck to them QOF XX
  11. Would advise consulting your GP first and suggest they re-enforce the floor QOF XX
  12. Don't you think there should be an upper age limit on the acrobatics bit say 40 top wack. Or at least a health warning NORTHERN SOUL DANCING CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH QOF XX
  13. Do you think the £10000 postage to me in a la land is a bit steep QOF XX
  14. I have just been given a box of records from an old pal to sort for him. Most of it soul stuff circa 72-76 lot of it is main stream soul/boogie/funk type stuff that I frankly know very little about - do we have a resident expert on the forum you could point me to QOF XX

  21. Appols to everyone for being off thread for a mo - but he loved it. He is a Music lover full stop and DJs Dance/House etc, and plays in a rock band. He has just stareted getting into mod stuff and ska (unbeknown to me) and has already decided he's coming again next year. Think he is coming to the all nighter at Llandudno tomorrow with me as well. Thanks for the contacts for passes greatly appreciated. Took my big sis on the sunday and she wants to go again as well - she always was a big soul fan, more of an ottis type follower than NS but still loved it. QOF XX
