  1. No your not!! it's the sublliminal messages again trying to take you to the other side
  2. Suppose it's a softer landing when that long forgotten back drop goes horribly wrong after more than enough encounters with mr smirnoff!!! But wouldn't my zimmer get stuck!!!
  3. Help I can hear strains of Oo-ee, oo-ee baby, Oo-ee, oo-ee baby, Oo-ee, oo-ee babe, Won't ya let me ...................... already. Mind you as long as that tune was banned - I could go for it.
  4. yeh but the dance floors are sh*te!!!!
  5. here we go again - is there no thread that is safe from the genre debate!!!!!
  6. thought he was Barry Lee?
  7. No Aretha (full stop) would suit me - do I see a can of worms being opened - hey stop throwing those stones it's just IMO
  8. I can feel a bad lyrics moment coming on "can it be that it was all so simple then or has time re-written every line if we had the chance to do it all again tell me would we" And the answer is YES. But I don't know about it being simple then, trying to get from north wales to wigan at some ghastley hour, lying to get into clubs cos you too young. Worrying about who was going to be there and was "that guy" going to notice you, were you wearing the right gear. As some wise man once said "youth is wasted on the young" or sommut like that, and as BigO said just enjoy what you like and try tolerate others taste in music (you never know you might learn somfink - i never have still an old soulie at heart but I do try) If i'd known what i know now maybe i wouldn't be the orginal QOF and if I wasn't the QOF I wouldn't be me so......................

No problem with that as long as it still spins in "My Front Room" each to ther own - where I do recognise that QOF is probably not one of the greatest records ever made it's personal to me so maybe I should add to my list of records that remind me of people. Chrissieo 1958 - present Queen Of Fools - Barabara mills, reminds me of me on so many occasions over the years, and its at the FRONT of my box. Most of us have a record thqat no one else likes but for our own reasons it's special to us, and really I use it on signature as a bit of a p*ss take of myself.

Alot of the threads at the moment are getting a bit serious (which I have no prob with) but thought time for a bit of fun, following on from the worst record stuff etc that I think we've done to death now and has ended up in the usual slanging match. Just been watching that "Second Chance" thing and got me thinking - A person maybe boyfriend/girlfriend from your "youth" and the record that always reminds you of them or you associate them. Will start it off with three of mine A guy called Steve Jones, The Night - Frankie Valli, about 1974 (still in my box), also took me to my first Man City game - B**t**d still support them now! Mikey Bailey - One WOnderful Moment - the Shakers early 70s sometime (think I'll look on ebay) and we're still great mates, even though he would never go out with me!! Pete White (1st husband) Band Of Gold - Freda Payne (don't think I'll bother looking for that one, we're not great mates)
  11. Best make sure the Stannah is working in May then, cos I may just take my zimmer up them stairs just to se what all the fuss is about. Is there room for my zimmer on the dance floor?
  12. Probably vocal slightly worse than the inst - but both dire
  13. Would go to Glastonbury as it is, (without the rain) even better if it was soul. But I think if you read the posts on the "worst Venue" thread I don't think many NS followers would find it IKEA enough!!!! Rain, Tents, bad loos etc you think they moan about Prestatyn accommodation what do you think they would say about Glastonbury style NS festival!
  14. Good Call - utter **** Never could stand Sea Cruise even back in the olden days
  15. I agree with you on the first two but how dare you mix sign of the times in with this sh*te. Gets spins in "My Front Room" events - one of mr smirnoff's favorites
  16. Oh no the record in the head thing has started - how dare you VicG, I thought we'd finished this with the SSSSS song. I knew it - The Plinston thing is all about subliminal messages - your trying to contaminate my brain with cr*p lyrics from cr*p songs - I can do worse I warn you!!

John, how old was you in your avatar photo?
  18. Unfotunately some of it is coming back to me now. Maybe I had subconciously supressed them, and won't be seeking hypno therapy to bring this one back!! (Win Place or Show) She's a Winner - The intruders AAGHHHHHH.
  19. AAAAHHHH South Wales that explains it!!!! In that case there is no cure!!
  20. Seek therapy, I'm sure it's only a form of chauvinism by proxy and can be cured!!
  21. Dr Love - probably the most pewk provoking, nauseating, vomit causing record I have ever heard in my life yukkkkkkkk Grosssssssss!!!!
  22. Will put out a flyer next gig - mind you they tend to be very short notice
  23. Yeh three of us, Me, Mr Smirnoff and Stella (Artois) - the slapper, all was well until Stella got all girlie and wanted "It May Be Winter Outside" Felice Taylor, Mr Smirnoff kept demanding "The Snake" (which i only have on a compilation - honest) so I played it he did a spin and then a back drop knocked his head on the telly and that was the end of that - said that venue had a crap DJ.
  24. Not sure if will make it upstairs all that modern stuff is a bit decadant for a woman of a certain age - but may go and have a look at what you youngsters are polluting your minds with, sure there are subliminal messages running through some of those tracks turning you all of the straight and narrow road.
  25. Heh!! didn't see you at the last gig in my front room!!!!!!
