  1. Cos I have stopped your pocket money and you seem to forget you are grounded. HOME NOW!! QoFxx
  2. Whatever Brut did, my mother always said that it all smelt of gents loos. Errrr how would my mother know what gents loos would smell like QoF xx
  3. This may be a bit stupid, but just been reading the RSG thread and a few other events threads that have a little bit of banter about people using excesive talc on dancefloors. I seem to remember that up until about 76 we didn't use talc but a form of powdered french chalk, I'm sure I am right, but I have aged a few years since then and my memory isn't what it used to be ( In the words of someone I can't remember call me Ms Alzheimer,) but if not feel free to correct me QoFxx
  4. Nice Hats QoFxx
  5. Don't know if it's the same Mike Post but he is a quite famous composer/musician in the states writing TV themes since the late sixties, can't find any detail in his discography about this track though. Not much help am I QoF xx
  6. Jackie WIlson - Nothing but Blue Skies and Exodus are always the last two records played at BSSC in Hatfield, but as was said earlier it tends to be more the DJs that records are synonimous with now rather than the venue QoF xx
  7. The disco at The Palace Hotel, Rhyl,The Orbit, in the early to mid 70s has to be Joy Love Joy "In Orbit", bit obvious but they were good times QoF xx
  8. It's not the guests you have to worry about it's those Anons that are the spooky ones Really put the heebie geebies up me And to keep on thread, I'm too old to stomp, going to be a grandma soon QoF xx
  9. Don't think I have done a back flip since the 70s, and I think you're right, when I choose music these days it tends to be more mid tempo, probably because I am nearer 50 than 40. When I cam back on to the scene I couldn't understand why music seemed slower then I realised once I started dancing again, we had all aged a little since the early 70s QoFxx
  10. You're just showing off cos you've got a trouser press QoF xx
  11. Was it ronnie corbett as he would need to be very small to be on top of the telly in the first place. groan groan QoF xx
  12. Mark If it's any consolation, I loved the CD you sent me when I bought that record from you. Just sorry i won't be at Northampton to hear you. QoF xx

  16. Thanks for keeping us in the picture. I am sure it is most appreciated. Everyones memories of Wigan are special and personal and quite often conflict. It seems to me that you are doing your best to portray the feeling of actually being there. It is hard sometimes to portray something that was so special to many of us in so many different ways and sometimes people get emotional when they feel that their memories are being (trying to find the right word but this will have to do) raped and pillaged ( sorry that was three words). Our funny little world we call Northern Soul has been badly portrayed in the past by people who do not understand it or have used it purely as a commercial vehicle and I think some of the negatives posts are just a reflection of what has happened in the past. I for one wish you well and I hope the film is everything you hope it to be. And for all those of you who have been negative about it I suggest, that like me, hold on to your own memories of Wigan and I hope that the film brings back memories of the earlier days of Wigan that I remember (OK so I'm old). QoF xx
  17. Only way to get rid of Skips is to eat them, you are talking about those funny tasting snacks, aren't you? QoF xx

  21. I have tried three times this morning to reply to your very sad post, but for someone who most people say has too much to say for herself, I am stumped. I hope your life gets itself back on track and you come out the other side of what ever has hurt you so much with a smile. I have never met you but we have had some written banter over the last 6 months and I know there are a lot of people on SS who will miss you. Take care and remember we will all probably be here in our little virtual community we call soul source when you feel like coming back into the fold. QoF xx
