  2. ...............and it's easier to spell than yours QoFxx
  3. You beat me to it.....................what is that about, "i've never been to me" QoFxx
  4. OK didn't get any offers to pull my nails out slowly and painfully so suppose I will have to listen in. I am ready now you can start QoFxx
  5. That will be tonight then will it Suppose I will listen in if I don't get a better offer, like having my finger nails pulled out one by one very slowly QoFxx QoFxx
  6. Just my opinion, love Martha usually and this is a good track but it doesn't give me the "tingle" "WOW" factor even if God himself was playing it or however much it is worth. QoFxx
  7. Now Now, James behave, shouldn't you be out scaring children or something I have come to a conclsuion tonight though, Ian's opinion of great female northern is far far away from mine, but to be fair I'm not a 70s fan so he was on a loser with me from the start. QoFxx
  8. Still think that Martha Starr track comes across as weak and can't understand why people rave about it QoFxx
  9. .....need you ask Just bring a bottle to the Statton Cottage pre/after Groovesville party in July and I will write off the debt QoFxx
  10. I do miss Sunday Snug....................that reminds me BB still owes me a Gene Toones Oh and I forgot, you didn't pay us for allowing you to DJ at Blue Skies and as you did two sets that will be double..................mine's a vodka QoFxx
  11. Des If you are at United Sounds of Soul on the 30th I will have tickets for the Groovesville Bedford event. QoFxx
  12. Had a reply asking how could I tell it ws a boot. Pointed in the direction of the old QOF thread /Hickory...oot#entry721498 QoFxx
  13. Thought I would go for the innocent approach. "Do you know that this is a bootleg copy?" Simple and to the point I thought QoFxx p.s. my ebay user name is qof_original, quite ironic I thought
  14. I think you are missing the point, this is not about music that we don't like, I love most of what has been posted, but about pop that crossed over, most of it we will love and some we will just cringe at. I love Holly St James and play it out (if Steve Guarnori isn't about - but that's another story) but it is a pop recording that crossed over to the northern scene as is with most of what has been posted. QoFxx
  15. Anita Harris - Playground. Thankfully I can't find this at the moment QoFxx
  16. Dolly Parton - Busy Signle No sound clip I'm afraid, not lucky enough to own this one. QoFxx
  17. Most of these aren't soul and that, I think, is the point of the thread. Pop records/recording artisits that crossed over onto the northern scene for what ever reason. QoFxx
  18. ......can you tell I am off work at the moment with nothing better to do with my time QoFxx
  19. Like the new format, just music no babbling QoFxx
  20. Thank goodness for that, something to break my boredom. Stuck at home for 2 weeks following op on "the ankle" last week and already tearing my hair out with another 10 days to go QoFxx
  21. I do post about things I like but your statement is a bit of an oxymoron, as if I only posted about things I like, many people wouldn't agree to so they would critisise my taste So are we only allowed to discuss things that everyone likes....................end of forum me thinks. One of the reasons the scene has survived is because we all have varying tastes, I just don't happen to like much of what SW has done in the last 25 years or so and I don't like Aretha Franklin either but that's another debate I don't see why discussing whether SW is still a soul singer or is now a pop singer is wrong and I personally have not made any jokes about him being blind so please can you direct your criticism at the person who posted the jokes and not me. Much of what I collect I wouldn't really class as soul more of 60s girlie pop but it seems to work and people dance to it but I am open about not classing it as soul. QoFxx
  22. I collect predominantly 60s female and quite a lot of that is blue eyed. I specifically like to collect records by known female pop singers that crossed over onto the northern scene. QoFxx
