Did you know that this week in 1949 RCA Victor introduced the 7-inch 45rpm vinyl single and compatible turn table. Do we love them or wish they had never had such a silly idea? I wonder if anyone at the time said "It will Never Catch On" QoFxx

My thoughts are very much the same as Dan's especially the past tense thing. Although I was there for a lot of the early 70s, since I came back to the scene I am going to more dos and having much more fun. It would of been nice for the show to of been an extra 15mins all about today's scene. Single, late 40s, son grown up, to me I am not re living my youth like some people say about returnees but I'm having a totally new youth, and I think I appreciate the whole scene alot more than I did then Mind you don't know whether I was flattered or insulted at being associated with an "underground subculture" Think my 25year old son would be proud of that though QoFxx

  14. This may be a bit stupid, but just been reading the RSG thread and a few other events threads that have a little bit of banter about people using excesive talc on dancefloors. I seem to remember that up until about 76 we didn't use talc but a form of powdered french chalk, I'm sure I am right, but I have aged a few years since then and my memory isn't what it used to be ( In the words of someone I can't remember call me Ms Alzheimer,) but if not feel free to correct me QoFxx
  15. Nice Hats QoFxx
  16. Don't know if it's the same Mike Post but he is a quite famous composer/musician in the states writing TV themes since the late sixties, can't find any detail in his discography about this track though. Not much help am I QoF xx
  17. Jackie WIlson - Nothing but Blue Skies and Exodus are always the last two records played at BSSC in Hatfield, but as was said earlier it tends to be more the DJs that records are synonimous with now rather than the venue QoF xx
  18. The disco at The Palace Hotel, Rhyl,The Orbit, in the early to mid 70s has to be Joy Love Joy "In Orbit", bit obvious but they were good times QoF xx
  19. It's not the guests you have to worry about it's those Anons that are the spooky ones Really put the heebie geebies up me And to keep on thread, I'm too old to stomp, going to be a grandma soon QoF xx

Don't think I have done a back flip since the 70s, and I think you're right, when I choose music these days it tends to be more mid tempo, probably because I am nearer 50 than 40. When I cam back on to the scene I couldn't understand why music seemed slower then I realised once I started dancing again, we had all aged a little since the early 70s QoFxx
  21. You're just showing off cos you've got a trouser press QoF xx
