  2. The Kentuky round the corner is closed by then but the lovely ANdreas is open till about 4-5.....................looking at it sometimes I'm not sure it's even chicken but they do a lovely coleslaw QoFxx
  3. But you and simon always have offer of my sofa/floor when you come up to Bedford. You make a great cuppa in the morning and are prepared to listen to my "novelty" records at 4am . and even more important you don't insist on enough fried chicken for a small army at 3am and stink my house out like Rbman
  4. I will probably be tucked up in my jim jams recovering from Friday night.............but if I get the urge will prob drag myself down to Paddingtons for a bit of classic stuff with the girlies for a bit of a bop, almost walking distance Not for me then QoFxx
  5. Terry Agreed with you totally until I saw that bit..............and I still think alot of the music played after mid 75 was total pooooo QoFxx
  6. I personally don't care what was played or not played at Wigan cos after mid 1975 I thought it all got out of hand musically and stopped going. Some of you that say that Funk has a place at a northern soul night are the same people that say that commercial 60s motown/atlantic/stax etc has no place at a northern soul night, I agree with you but can't see how you can say that funk has a place but this great music doesn't. I agree with Winnie on one point, that is because the lack of dancers these days the tempo of the music on the scene has slowed down somewhat, whether that is down to many of us getting older or more of the DJs are collectors and not actually dancers themselves. QoFxx
  7. I personally would like to say, Richard, DONT EVER DO THIS AGAIN it has cost me a fortune in wants Joking apart these CDs are probably my #1 played in the car these days. QoFxx
  8. And I thought it was you Dave Dave Rimmer Ageless QoFxx
  9. Me to ......whatever it was QoFxx
  10. I was thinking that, but thought I had missed the point as usual QoFxx
  11. No spent all my vinyl tokens on Friday Brown and a couple of others, just hope someone else brings it on Friday, I will have a word with Steve G. QoFxx
  12. Not all of them ...................Be warned, revenge can be sweet and I may get my own back at Letchworth in January , My sofa is no longer available to strange men from Kent wearing SS LAAS badges and to think a was cheering on your football team for you yesterday. You men are so fickle QoFxx
  13. Oh dear. if you are coming on Friday you best get there after 7 and miss me behing the decks in that case, or you may spend the rest of the night slagging off my girlie records QoFxx
  14. No I am not tubby, I juist don't like it. It, doesn't give me that spine chill feeling that earlier soul music does...... and as you well know, after a few vodkas I will dance to most things, I even vagually remember doing the "bump" with a certain person on Friday night QoFxx
  15. I prefer female solo and group stuff to male vocals, think it could be a gender thing. Lyrics are a very important factor to me, so whether its because I relate to the lyrics of female songs, I don't know. Was playing some tracks at my house last Friday night, mixed company. The girls there seemd to prefer my choices of records, predominantley female and the blokes kept pulling the male vocal stuff out of my box to play................... QoFxx
  16. I live south of Watford gap but I agree with you totally (mind you I was born in the North West). If you are going to have a 3rd room, taking that the main room is predominantley NS and the 2nd room is modern (which just about fits in) it is more fitting that it is either RnB or Ska/Reggae which fits far more with the ethos of the Northern Soul scene...........just my opinion of course QoFxx
  17. Change your bank QoFxx
  18. PM'd you re clovers QoFxx
