No I totally agree with you ...............AGAIN......god this is worrying QoFxx

Well said young Mr Bear totally concur with that. I can't afford to have a huge expensive collection so I made a concious decision to collect a certain genre (rather than re-issues and boots as I am a bit of an OVO purist) and if you don't like it don't ask .Only buy for myself and love it when I share it and other people and they enjoy it but I enjoy it just as much when I am sitting on the floor of my front room at 3am playing it to myself or any captive audience I may happen to have available oh and the neighbours . But I have to admit I do love reading playlists from proper djs makes me envious in a nice way, a bit like watching Top Gear when you are driving ten year old astr QoFxx

There are many points of view on this, I usually post a play list if asked. I don't worry about anyone thinking I am playing boots as everyone who knows me know that I don't, I don't worry about people knicking stuff from my set cos no one else would play half the stuff I play and the times people have asked me about stuff I have played I am more than pleased to share it with them and gives me some sort of pride. I was very sad last saturday night though when I had a sixties girlie pop night at home and a little worse for vodka posted the play list on here I love reading other peoples play lists cos to me it's all part of the education but not to copy what other people are playing. My favourite way of finding stuff is spending hours trolling ebay and sales list etc listening to clips of stuff that I don't know and to me if you aren't prepared to do this you shouldn't be DJing. In answer to Terry's point that people should just get along and find out what is being played, while agree that not enough people support musically great venues I also feel that there are so many venues bigged up and when you travel 50 - 100 miles and get there you find that the DJs are playing too many oldies or even worse boots. I have nothing against the odd oldies night now and again but I don't want to travel to what was bigged up as "up front" only to find the DJ playing same old. There are a number of first rate DJs that guest all over the country that you just know are going to hit the spot, these DJs have no need to post play lists IMHO you know they are going to deliver. I think you can tell a lot about a venue by previous guest DJs and playlists. QoFxx

Does it come with a matching toilet bag for brut and johnsons baby powder QoFxx
-
Unfortunatley not, have seen loads of them at Prestatyn etc but never taken any notice of who was selling them as they are not my "bag" so to speak.................. I hate shopping (except in your shop of course )especially when I know exactly what I want and can't find it. Will be up about the 8th af January to do some "real" shopping, make sure you have the coffee on and plenty of 60s girlie for me to chose from QoFxx

Trying to find as a present for a friend. What I am looking for is a ladies soul style bowling bag. I have seen them around and about they are not as big as the normal all nighter bags, bit bigger than a handbag, and come in girlie colours, i.e. pink and pale blue. Have checked out a number of sites recomended to me but they all seem to be the bloke type ones. Anyone got any ideas where I may find one. QoFxx

As some of you know, as well as collecting female northern vocals I also collect 60s girlie pop. So its saturday night, 2 days before pay day and can't afford to go to the 100 club, so having a night in with a couple of vodkas and my records and decided to have theme night and play the 60s girlie stuff I rarely get to play out. I am also Mrs Organised so all my records, depending on genre are in different coloured sleeves and tonight it is the turn of the red covers...........so here is tonights 60s girlie pop play list. The Poppies - There's a pain in my heart Petula Clark - Sign Of The Times Little Ann - What Should I do (I know some of you may class this as northern but to me its 60s girlie, great 60s girlie though) Peggy March - I Will Follow Him Susan Maughan - That Other Place Joan Regan - Don't Talk To Me About Love Bobbi Martin - For The Love Of Him Darlene Love - Wait Till My Bobbi Gets Home Laurie Davis - Don'cha Shop Around The Toys - Lovers Concerto Toni Harpur - Heavenly Love The Shirelles - It's Love That really Counts Sandie Shaw - Don't Run Away Sandy Layne - How Many Times The Angels - Go Out And Play The Devonnes - I'm Gonna Pick Up My Toys Joey Heatherton - When You Call Me Baby Diane Renay - Unbelievable Guy Dolls - This Is Our Day Anita Harris - Playground Peggy March - Let Her Go Friday Brown - 32nd Love Affair Holly St James - Thats Not Love QoFxx

That's about the same as the one on GEMM, nice suprise thought it was a lot less. QoFxx
-
Just itemising my records for Insurance replacement value and for replacement value I am basing everything, where price available, on JMs prices (to take into consideration that replacement value is usually about a third over going rate). Was checking value of Lydia Pense, I'll Forgive You, and as there was not one listed on JM I looked up on GEMM and was v suprised at the price. Mine is WD in EX condition.....................what would be your value, taking into consideration replacement value is usually over the going rate. QoFxx
