For once Ian, I don't think this is all about you. There was some very nasty name calling on a freebasing thread and some of it stems from there I think. QoFxx
  2. Nice to see simple organisation Steve. So far its only yourself, Rod, Spacehopper, Hammie and I that use any form or organisation a lot of people just seem to keep all their best records at the front of their box and others have no regard for any sort of organisation QoFxx
  3. I don;t know WHAT you mean QoFxx
  4. Thats why I keep mine alpha and have different coloured sleeves for the styles so I can spot them easily. QoFxx
  5. Doooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I couldn't do mine by label cos I can't remember half the time, it's more like "you know that blue label with the silver writing" or "that colourful one with the statue on it" errrrrrrrrr QoFxx
  6. Speak for yourself.................or should that be brag for yourself QoFxx

Well as long as it is played who cares but I will keep it in my Red Sleeved selection (60sGP) for now QoFxx

That may be Ian, but is this because she has been led to believe this by people on the UK scene who loved and wanted to hear the record played out or has she a deep knowledge of the full NS scene through her own experience. This is not a dig as I said before it is one of my favourite GP records and fits in well with the NS scene like many 60sGP and as does a lot of RnB/Beach music/popcorn and to some extent 70s disco (sorry couldn't reist that one ). I don't think it is a colour issue, there are black artists that recorded what I would refer to as GP and white artists that recorded soul (i.e. dusty). I think I sitill err on the GP with HSJ though. Because something is GP doesn't make it a bad record and mean that it shouldn't be played and being NS doesn't make a record a good record and some of them should never be played There is another female 60s track that I would also class as GP but would probably get shot on here if I expressed this opinion so I will keep it to myself QoFxx

I am not sure if I should be flattered, or just very very very scared As 60s girlie pop is my passion and I collect and play out a lot of 60sGP that has crossed over on to the northern scene, i.e. Susan Maughan, Sandi Shaw, Friday Brown, Bobbi Martin, Peggy March, Joey Heatherton, Holly St James etc. I have no problem with calling it as it is and referring to it as just that and depending on where I am playing always try and slip a few into my set. Holly St James is one of my favourite of these tracks ................how would you classify it, NS or 60sGP? QoFxx
  16. Well at least they are nearly in alpha order. So there is some hope for you . OK bearing in mind these haven't been taken out of my box since local pub night on New Years Eve there is the odd cheesy one and a couple of xmas treats, even I am suprised they are still in order and in the right coloured sleeves Anna Craig - Life of The PArty Barbara George - I Know Barbara Lynn - You'll Loose A Good Thing Barbara Lynn - Take your love and run Barbara Lynn - Second Fiddle Girl Barbara Mercer - Hey Barbara Mills - Queen Of Fools/Take YOur TIme Betty Everett - Better Tomorrow Than Today Bettye Swan - Closed For The Season Bredna & The Tabulations - Hey Boy Brenda Lee - Christmas Will Be Just Another Lonely Day Bunny SIgler - Let The Good Times Roll Candace Love - Wonderful Night Chi Chi - If YOu're Gonna Love Me Darlene Love - CHristmas, Baby Please Come Home So no bragging there then - prob total value £20 well apart from Chi Chi QoFxx

Does this include childish name callilng as well, cos I object to being referred to as a troll, JAmes maybe but not me I am happy to keep out of your thread while you are busy discussing yourself and your music, unless i have genuine opinion on it but I object to being called names and I take it I am the female you are referring to in your later post. So try and keep it about your music and not your opinions of people and I am sure it will all run very smoothly...........oh happy new year And dont start winging about how I ruined your thread, you started it by referring to people as trolls in the title. QoFxx

I think you should join Rod (modernsoulsucks) and I on the "1st 15 records in my box" thread...you sound just like our sort of people. The company sleeves I have I keep filed carefully away. QoFxx
  20. Red Yellow and Black are my old school colours and its all they had at the time. As soon as I have sufficient RnB I will be investing in some green covers to give them an identity of there own. Quite right to disregard this diagnosis the woman is obvioulsy somewhat deranged. I take it that spices, tinned foods etc are not alphabetically organised within your kitchen cupboards. My sympathies are with you and I really don't know how you manage to live in such a disorganised world. The mild aspergers and OCD analgies have been made before with regard to other collectors, in jest, not by myself I hasten to add, as I find these patterns of behaviour perfectly normal. Should there be scientific research into how many record collectors have OCD or aspergers? The one thing I have noticed, probably more prevelant because I tend only to collect female vocals, there are an excessive amount of artists begining with B, Barabra, Betty(e)s, Brendas etc....................what came first the name or the vocation. My name is Barbara therefore I must sing I would like to see some other names in there so my collection could be more even alphabetically, this inbalance has actually kept me awake at night trying to think of female 60s vocals by artists begining with U or W. QoFxx
  21. While I agree with you in principal I have gone for the variation with the coloured cardboard outers and white inners. My colour schemeing is slightly different from yours which probably suits my smaller inferior collection and is preahps is a little simpler (well I am only a Girlie ) Black - Northern & RnB Red - 60s Girlie (pop as some may call it - but its my main collecting subject) Yellow - Youthclub, commercial motwon etc I am so pleased to see that at least someone still has standards . QoFxx
  22. I am confused doesn't every one keep their play box neatly in alphabetical order and colour coded cardboard sleeves for genre (i.e. NS, R&B, MP, 60s Girlie etc) then sub colour coded with post-it file tags for tempo I would guess mine would then be anything starting with A or B, I know Anna Craig, Life of the Party is at the front cos its the only one I keep in my play box that starts with A Do you think I should get out more QoFxx
  23. Totally agree, never heard the man play a duffer QoFxx
  24. Will always be my #1 QoFxx
