  2. I have always been a fan of the tv series x files (mulder & scully) and this got me wondering about an xfiles on soul? Just add your urban legends (debunked or proof of existence) whether it be 45s or label variations, let’s see whether we can put these myths to bed! In recent times the Darrell banks on a London issue appeared from the wild, recently Darren brown had a shrine 45 with cairos and Eddie daye on one disc, mick holdsworth has brought the subject of Ron Holden on a challenge issue? sam fletcher tower issue? nolan chance on bunky? have fun lee
  3. Did uk acetates have that crinkled edge around the centre like a uk 45? it’s look like a blank test press with a emi label stuck over it?

  8. Youth club was my first introduction to northern soul,I was really young in the late 70’s,8 years old maybe, the older kids would come into the youth club and then go off to the Wigan casino! northern soul was played along side the jam, specials,Dexy’s,…etc….i didn’t know for years that northern soul was old music
  9. I’ve never seen nor heard of anyone ever seeing or owning an issue Julian! Thing of wonder though wouldn’t it!
  10. Could do with northern soul falling on its arse ted before the t**t sells them
  11. I agree,no doubt it’s rare, but certainly only an ok record at best, tiresome after a few plays! seen it a few times over the years at around 800/1k,but 5k is nuts!
  12. Is it the adhd attracts one to northern soul/collecting,or northern soul gives one adhd ?
  13. I think it is simply the four prong is more desirable (to which I prefer) and therefore fetches more money!
  14. I’ve never been big on the Motown collecting, but a bit of a querie with “time” There seems to be a significant difference in value between the uk black 725 solid centre and 4 prong? The 4 prong appearing to be a hell of a lot more value? Is it because they just look better? Or is the release date different? The 725 solid centre doesn’t seem to fetch anymore money than the 1028 reissue, whereas the 725 4 prong is significantly more? lee

  16. I’ve had both demo and issue a couple of times, don’t recall any sound imperfections, but maybe both copy’s never saw a jukebox! equally I have had records that have been “buffed” and whilst it improves the look of the record,it dulls the sound somewhat!
  17. Servicemen 27 quid,I don’t mind rounding it off to 30 quid if post is thrown in
  18. Nice clean record, plays spot on,couple of marks in styrene (dap) £225 inc post within uk no quibble returns bank transfer or PayPal as f&f thanks lee
  19. I think the white demo is safe way to own it,however I thought the blue one had a convincing boot?
  20. I’ve downloaded it,thankyou,I look forward to a bedtime read
  21. Jm’s suggest it is a reissue put out after Roy’s death in 69? Where as the white rca 45 is 1966?
  22. Jm’s has listed this 45,I always knew it as an lp track but not as a 45! I did see an orange Philippines 45 some time ago and thought it was some kind of reissue some years after the actual release, anyway, this white rca 45 listed,am I reading correct that it is a 1960’s release and is the orange 45 a reissue? what a superb version of the tune, certainly my fave, and what a great 45 to own too!
  23. Looks like someone is about to be disappointed and getting a refund of £427
