  1. Fa fa fa fa fa fa?
  2. I think he means it sounds like Joe Murphy’s so blue?
  3. That’s what I’m not sure about? The two song titles aren’t even on YouTube either,so I can’t tell if it’s unissued or just a simple typo error
  4. Just played them on YouTube, very similar indeed
  5. So the 45 on veejay 668 (which is his last 45 on the label)with songs empty balcony/where did you go last night, actually plays a song “I can’t get away from your love (below) on the “night” side question is…is it the correct song but with the wrong title? Or wrong song and correct title? And also is this the case on all the said 45s ? Both issues and demos?
  6. Speaking of the 45 itself,I always thought it was reasonably rare item, but the last couple of years it’s seams there is one around every corner! At least 6 on Discogs alone! Compared to the people’s choice and the couple of other bits on this palmer variation jimmy mack is in abundance, and to be a bore on values, why is jimmy Mack usually 1500 upwards, and people’s choice half that? Isn’t people’s choice much rarer and dare I say it a better quality tune?
  7. Chalky is right,it isn’t all just about northern anymore! If you want a good time and dance to stuff you’ve grown up listening to then there are loads of places to attend ,also chill out places, and places that play a bit of all sorts! But I do think it’s the major niters that drive the values on records,if a big name starting hammering the shepards at every major niter then the value would no doubt well exceed even the 350 mark! Personally I love the record, but wouldn’t pay past the 150 quid regardless of any demand or popularity
  8. I do wonder if a lot of these records are nice quality records, and in some cases rare too! However there’s records to own and play at home, then there are the niter and soul nites records, seems to me that the two differ greatly! The shepards is a quality tune, but it’s never grabbed the floor!
  9. Rare northern soul.com
  10. I reckon someone will take it eventually for a tidy sum,but it won’t be anyone to do with northern soul! Probably word will get to a shiek in Dubai
  11. Can’t believe it’s still there been in a while now!
  12. on jet set issue or demo thanks lee
  13. Also with the wrong sides your looking like a “should have gone to spec savers advert”
  14. A very nice looking set that lad
  15. Mouth watering pieces them mate
  16. Mint copy on discogs at 50 quid,uk seller too! Don’t know the record or whether that’s good value?
  17. I haven’t heard that term in years “in any road”
  18. Yeah post title should be “SHOULD this exist”
  19. Yeah send the bugga back….unless of course it’s a serious raritie that never appears in the wild,if so,then work with what you’ve got, file an adapter down to suit!
  20. Talk about from one extreme to another! Barbara should have stuck with rca!
  21. Haha she doesn’t look like her voice
  22. Pic online of her?
  23. Is Barbara a black artist?
  24. If this was played to me today and I had never heard of it before then I would certainly guess at it being petula Clark, even the production is similar to her 60’s stuff! But then again a lot of females sound like this on 60’s stuff, especially on this typical 60’s production! could be her under another name?
  25. The site has a few nice pieces, and is always varied in raritie and values, however I don’t find it an easy site to register onto, and it appears the same records go round and round, maybe the reserves are to high? Personally I don’t think auctions should have reserves!
