  2. I must admit both sides of the softiques sounds like it’s early stage demo form, not mixed to well and very sparse for any market, literally one guitar and a bass line, the drums are way back in the mix,if there at all? But this is the beauty of it for me! the condors is a bit more well produced, and maybe why it got a release on limelight as it sounds on the Sheldon demo?
  3. I’ve only seen an actual vinyl copy of condors once! It a was demo “not for sale”
  4. I agree “two kinds of boys” is a superb piece of bare bones mid tempo magic, the backing singing is especially nice! A shockingly rare disc as with the condors on Sheldon too! Interestingly I wonder how many know that the condors was released on limelight as jeannie & the gentlemen, same 2 sides with”meet me halfway” being again mid tempo magic, with a superb trumpet break!
  5. also to add the Gallahads (this group in question we’re a black soul group) the galahads were a white rock&roll group so they probably had to withdraw the 45 for that reason, which will make it a very rare item!
  6. Very nice item indeed,my theory is that they pressed a few issue/stock copies and withdrew it due to the spelling of the group name being incorrect? on the white demo it spells THE GALLAHADS on this copy it spells THE GALAHADS food for thought lee
  7. I’m sure if it’s a USA white or black abc copy then it’s original, doesn’t seem much sense in booting this now or even in the 70’s plus there is a legit uk reissue from the 70’s with a small hole
  8. A USA GREEN ISSUE PLEASE NICE LUMP OF CASH FOR THE RIGHT COPY THANKS LEE
  9. My thoughts are with Maria and friends and family of Carl,A huge loss! my little story is….late 90’s I was an obsessive collector and budding dj,I went round to Carl and Maria’s house after doing a spot at the greatstone (I think) and Carl letting me rummage through there record boxes,my eyes were popping out of my head with envy,I saw what he had and thought I may as well give up rip carl atb lee

  12. SILENT TREATMENT NICE LUMP OF CASH FOR THE RIGHT COPY THANKS LEE
  13. Seems to me that since the mid 80’s the northern soul scene as embraced many different styles/genres,but as you point out, just a very small amount of choice cuts! Personally I like the boogaloo Latin stuff, but it’s instrumental based,so that’s maybe why only a few have cut through? 2 or 3 instrumentals in a night is more than enough! I suppose when you percentage the records at any given niter between northern…xover…modern…r&b….boogaloo/latin….garage…then it will look split pretty evenly, with northern been the dominant base?
  14. Sold now thanks
  15. This tune is more suited to a funk soul dj/collector,it appears to be a rare piece with two quality sides, personally I prefer the more upbeat side”gonna find a way” in a way it reminds of sag war fare? £400 including post SOLD record is m- both sides
  16. Tell you what stuff like vito & salutations best be going, neptunes broken hearts, all that early to mid 80’s stuff still sounds great, and really cheap to buy now cos it’s not in fashion! Loads of gems from that period! cracking tape that chalky, nice one
  17. Ok that makes sense,so simply a continuation along with a label design change
  18. What’s this mate? Sorry I understand now
  19. I really like the look of the g&w’s,so thanks for the info my mate before a new obsession takes over
  20. So were the green and whites to meet a northern soul demand? any of them different songs from the black or red and whites? So is Edwin Starr my weakness is you not on a black or r&w? But some years after the USA release?
  21. I know next to nothing of uk tamla 45s,are the green tmg’s all demos? And are they a reissue of previous material? When did they start and end? and finally…are they regarded as the runt of the litter?
  22. GOOD NEWS…lovely labels,,shiny vinyl, plays loud and clear no unwanted pops and crackles, and it’s the rarer issue! BAD NEWS….its suffered from no inner sleeve,so it has many non feelable lines(look at pics) £350 includes 1st class signfor post cheaper way to obtain an increasingly tough record!
