  1. Rare soul 45s @ £100 only vg,however Darren’s vg’s are most peoples ex
  2. You’ve done your bit though mate
  3. I must admit I have for many years pondered the idea of 2 scenes, actual soul devotees whom attend events, and the stay at home soul collectors, personally I drift somewhere in between, but I’ve known people over the years with the best and rarest collections and they don’t have anything to do with the social scene! Equally there’s people who have attended regularly for years and never had the desire to own a single record!
  4. Maybe the sound on despenza and wand are pretty much the same then. Always wondered if the name change on the wand copy’s was an error or on purpose?
  5. Are the wand issues styrene? My despenza (italics) is vinyl and mint,it plays the way I would expect, however I wonder if the wand copy’s are styrene do they play with a bit more punch?
  6. CLASSIC STAFFORD ERA TUNE,RARE AS HELL,BUT THAT DONT MEAN NOTHING IF ITS NOT YOUR BAG EX CONDITION £70 INC POST
  7. Joe is cool to deal with, always see if there’s room for movement?
  8. Joe Dunlop at soul mountain has a nice copy that he will swap for a bag of sand
  9. So From 66 to 69/70 They really had faith in the tune,I must admit in terms of northern soul it has something unique about it and certainly in my top 10! As a possible condender in the pop charts of the 60’s Im not so sure?
  10. Im sure there are copy’s with it spelt correctly, maybe the newer boot?
  11. Joe at soul mountain has one for sale
  12. So where do the other 2 despenza variations fit in?
  13. Also isnt “weirdest” spelt wrong on the originals?
  14. Great info from all you guys
  15. yeah Im more curious as to whether these outfits paid the writer/group any dosh to reissue it,and if it ain’t registered with bmi etc then maybe they don’t have to pay any money, and also if they did wanna pay,how would they get the money to them if the song isn’t registered?
  16. Really? I honestly thought when these reissues appeared with almost looking labels, and almost looking label names that they paid royalties etc… so for example ‘KINGY’ is this not legitimate?
  17. Great info guys..thanks so for example…the brooks bros -looking for a woman on Tay DOESNT have bmi on it,yet it was reissued on kingy, what happens in that scenario regarding royalties etc..
  18. very good Julian….but I think im 10 stone piss wet through!
  19. On 45s most of them say BMI to which I understand is that the song is registered,so what does it mean when the 45 DOESNT have BMI on it? thanks lee
  20. I’ll take that burn mate
  21. I’ve had this in the past, ‘lazy’ is a cool tune, just listen how the trumpets build and get aggressive! Brilliant!
  22. Just listening to it through headphones,I have to say the comments are bloody harsh! It’s a cracking backing track, and the girl at least has variation in her voice! In terms of collecting,it’s a rare piece, and at 3k estimate it’s a lot better than most at similar money…….like what nut case just paid £7.5 for that disco record jax something or other
  23. What is the other side like? It might be that ‘they didnt know’ was a typical no one cares b side? No particuliar care of how it turns out? Personally I don’t mind it,I’ve certainly heard a lot worse, maybe this is under attack because of its value it usually achieves?
  24. SOUNDSATIONS WITH A GREAT DOUBLE SIDER 45 IS A SPOTLESS LABELS AND STYRENE M- £225 inc post
