  1. Credit where its due, johns auctions are certainly the most varied of the auctions,he caters for all levels of collector and dj! As for the money side, well he aint about to turn his nose up at it,its a business with wages to pay! it aint is problem that people of stupid!
  2. Inspirations the only catch on there for me, and well worth the money for raritie and quality, the rest i wouldnt miss! but 1k for f beverly is beyond the pale! What a bunch of plonkers!
  3. Surely his “love really hurts without you” is more “northern” than the red light! I recall youth club days and at the local disco if someone said “put some northern on” it was “love really hurts without you” invariably came on!
  4. I have an unsettling feeling that its gonna be true!
  5. That cant be right! A bag of sand for the drifters!
  6. Gee white label with black lettering!
  7. Yeah mercury label certainly likes its garage/soul acts!
  8. You know what mate, i was expecting a white fella! Burning bush has that blued eyed feel to it! But then again before the power of the internet i thought jimmy radcliffe was white too
  9. I agree....this is the dullest bit if of trivia ive read today..so far! kiddin mate,im always interested in the beginnings of artists and the songs! Nice one Pic of the lp?
  10. Never had or heard of it! Maybe it has an overlooked b side?
  11. Bloody rare on that red issue though! Only seen it a couple if times before!
  12. Im sure i had a boot of this in the early 80’s
  13. Considering all the traditional “northern soul” tunes have gone through the roof, the donald lee richardson looks cheap now at 250 quid! I wish id had a punt on it now! the johnny meastro isnt cheap considering a handful of mint demos have been floating around at 700 quid!
  14. 5k for one and 7k for the otherwell why not
  15. On the grand scheme of things this was a flippin bargain!
  16. Never even seen one of them! Is it same label as arin demain?
  17. Ive just checked on popsike, and i sold a vg+ copy in august 2017 and got £2k for it! I do think 7k is excessive!
  18. Although that albert george song is bloody obcure,i wonder how there can be another version of it?
  19. Certainly a start! Shouldnt be to difficult to trackdown the tune now!
  20. So is the 3rd one a version of albert george soul baby?
  21. Thanks ady,i must have saw her in 97 then, cos i would have remembered dean parrish! I dont know why but i was sure it was them earlier great yarmouth weekenders! Im must be confused by the amount of acts that were on at both the weekenders...so many! thanks for the info chaps!
  22. Jesus... that much later! I am going mad! Who else Was on?
  23. I must be going mad,i was sure id seen maxine brown at the late 80’s early nineties soul weekender in great yarmouth,i remember a certain excitement of hearing “its torture” live as it was previously put out on a kent single! However, upon looking at the early flyers there is no mention of her! Surely to god she was playing here in the uk around that time,or am i imagining everything?
  24. Put it back in the box and wait for “bar music” to creep its way into northern soul along with all the other sub standard genres over the years! Then sell it for thousands
  25. I think compared to his 60’s stuff thiis will struggle in comparison, also because of his unique voice his vocal is overdone on this 45,its a bit to bar music for me! Compared to “room for me” “hang on” and “so full of love” i cant see it will have any appeal to anyone other than jesse collectors! I suppose all his 45’s are rare! I had “so full of love” on “jaboth” which is shockingly rare, and a decent enough tune, but it was a hard sell when i got rid of it!
