  1. Great little tune! Sure i had it as NORMAN rickett? I seem to recall both sides being really good too!
  2. Two away! Thats a shame, cos a £500 music centre in 1981 must have been a serious item!
  3. I think its simply to appeal to the collector in us,and of course squeeze another tenner out of you! Which i suppose if its an unreleased track of soughts, then it has its own appeal! But if its a run of the mill tune thrown on a piece of vinyl then i dont see the point of the issue or demo! Just go on youtube for free if you that desperate to hear paul anka or something line that!
  4. Do you remember whom the other 3 casino tickets were for? great collection of finds too!
  5. I noticed a copy on darren browns site at 1600 quid,in the description it mentions it being a recent play/discovery for ginger and john parker? Anyway i knew the record instantly,im certain it was played around late 80’s early 90’s by a few of the big names at the time? Great tune and defo rare!
  6. Does it ACTUALLY play “knock on my door” on the back? Not just the title on the label?
  7. Ive searched everywhere now,im convinced the wand 45 wasnt issued! Demo only!
  8. Be nice to see a pic of a wand issue! Im not convinced it exists?
  9. Yeah ive had a karma copy in the past, and i think neither karma or wand turn up very often these days, but i dont recall ever seeing a wand issue! So if wand only saw a demo stage, then maybe thats why its turned out to be a rare item?
  10. So does a wand ISSUE exist (red lettering)?
  11. A couple of questions regarding this 45! the wand 45 seems to be rarer than the first local karma release,is that because the wand 45 didnt get issued (red lettering)? Popsike is only showing demos! and is love power on the back of the wand 45? I notice the karma 45 they are called THE STEMMONS EXPRESS and the wand 45 simply STEMMONS EXPRESS! any pics ofthe group anywhere? Other releases? Info?
  12. Also the 2 45’s have different writer credits?
  13. I just noticed a jay j jones you dont know about me on vtone for sale in sales, the title rang a bell with me,so i went over to youtube to remind me,and i noticed its the same backing as the butlers she tried to kiss me! Question is…which came first? Are there other versions? Its a decent tune but you would have to be a teenager again to dance to it
  14. God so many over the years,i got on to ebay quite early on when not many were buying from there and the americans didnt really know what they were selling! inmates-this is the day mint copy $40 delivered! monctclairs hey you dont fight it -mint copy $90 delivered four dynamics things a lady stone mint $100 delivered! bill dennis on shrine mint copy $100 deivered and loads of oldies for no more than $20 that went on to fetch the big money weve all seen in recent years!
  15. And in answer to the original question…no its not acceptable! Once you go down that road you may aswell stick a cd on! Of play youtube through the speakers! In that case someone should have fed it to him! Shameful
  16. I think when you are a top/prominent dj,no one is gonna question what your playing! And even if they got a glimpse of a carver etc, you will put it down as a one off test press or something like that and not a carver! Having said that,if a dj has reached the top ranks, then i cant imagine they would need or want to play a cheap imitation!
  17. The skip is somewhere just after the middle and is so insignificant that at first i wasnt sure i was hearing it! But once your ears know its there its like a pending piece of bad news waiting for you!
  18. Well pointed out! Ive had 2 uk mint demos in the past and both jumped in the same spot! And under the microscope absolutely no imperfection! I thought maybe it was a fault on master recording that maybe was mixed after the usa copies? I didnt know the uk issue jumped too? Although it would make sense that it would!
  19. What a clown who has paid this! Id want a mint uk issue for that! Usa demo is the least rarest format, and again not rare, crops up at least once a month at half that amount! Divvy!
  20. the only bad thing about my comment isnt the language, its the god awful record
  21. Some nice pieces on there, and of course not a bargain in sight..larry santos etc! but i have to say the cavaliers 45,xxxxxxxxxxxxhat is the worst record ive ever heard! The guitar is out of tune,it sounds like a practise run but they said xxxxxx it that'll do! I dont know whats worse the fact some clown has paid 911 quid for it,or the group for releasing an appaulling song on a astonishingly bad recording session! All the band must have been pissed or on something! Bad is to kinda word for that record!
  22. I really like it,its like ABBA with guitars, which i must add i cant stand ABBA! But this version is very good! I wouldnt call it heavy metal though! More garage band sounding!
  23. Off the cuff thought! But why ESPECIALLY in the oldies climate, why does “shook me up” seem to command a lot more money than “crackin up” i personally dont think either are particularly rare either demo or issue! But the shook me up is a dated sound of the Stafford era records that have fallen by the way side, whereas cracking up is top class northern soul and a top oldie! I would think shook me up should command a lot less than cracking up personally?
  24. I thought the answer was obvious and well documented that a chap who reguarly visited a record shop in london was taking soul records up north in the early seventies because the kids were playing soul in the clubs, and he or the record shop owner said “call it NORTHERN SOUL” this is before the likes of the casino etc...
  25. All these insane prices wont matter in the end,cos nothing lasts for ever, and half these records wont sound half as good with little or no value! Funny how value makes something sound better
