  1. Yeah that’s true, and I don’t doubt that they bunged him a few quid for being in the vid!
  2. Yeah you would think Tommy would have confirmed it is him whom originally recorded it,or why bother being on a video of a song that isn’t you?
  3. This is the band doing a cover version of said song,as you see in the video Tommy hunt appears,I personally think the acetate is Tommy hunt singing, because I don’t believe a band would record, make a video, have Tommy in the video if it wasn’t tommys song! Surely Tommy must know that he recorded the song, and wouldn’t he himself be asking why they want him in the video if it wasn’t him singing?
  4. Where can my baby be pm me if interested in parting with a copy lee
  5. Is the lp a uk release Julian? I suppose it’s possible they would put the 45 in there? But I thought the lp was usa?
  6. Defo Tommy hunt in the video,he must know that it’s him singing, and I doubt you would have Tommy in the vid if it wasn’t him singing the original acetate?
  7. Can’t believe I’ve never heard this before, this is top class northern soul! my first thought was it’s an unreleased Tommy hunt tune,or maybe chuck Jackson? following the YouTube comments led me to the stefan Taylor video, and Tommy hunt is in the vid,so surely the song is Tommy hunt?
  8. Always amazes how rare something like this is,she had a reasonable amount of success, you wonder how this 45 can be as rare as it is! Doesn’t she sound like Kathy Kirby? great little tune this
  9. Don’t think it’s the same group on la Cindy ? nice record your auctioning by the way!
  10. Still interested in this….anybody?
  11. One on at rare northern soul.com normally very expensive on there, however for a m- at £250 seems pretty good? lee
  12. Might I recommend the MONO copy, sounds better!
  13. Will have a listen to the variation in the 2 recordings ted
  14. So it’s not my ears then?
  15. BARBARA LONG ON JET SET PLEASE ATB LEE
  16. Utterly pointless topic I suppose,I notice small details here and there, recently this little detail in the recording, might be my ears? the original 45 has a finger snap and hi-hat sound in the intro and eventually onto a drum beat, however the reissued Kent version has a drum beat straight from the onset, has this been added on,or simply emphasised?
  17. These lp’s were the start of everything for me,casino classics 1 and 2 got played to death, not so much 3! The soul supply lp’s are simply superb! Then onto the Kent lp’s which are legend! And of course inbetween all them you have rca and grapevine lp’s i will have a think of my top 5 lp’s great topic Peter
  18. The sky liners is superb, not heard that before! Back street instrumental is so powerful, really good! But what’s alternate about the delites?
  19. Any vito & salutations material?
  20. Yeah saw that,it’s an instrumental, not the best instrumental in the world, but certainly playable!
  21. Personally I like the construction as a “northern tune” but no desire to own it northern soul has always been more about the beat and feel to me rather than the “soul” content,I reckon 80% of my top 50 is gonna be blue eyed !
  22. which record is cracked?
  23. I had the “so full of love” 45 on jaboth in the late 90’s,the copy I had is actually the only copy I’ve ever seen, shockingly rare, rumours of a pink label variant I’d like to see? I believe “there’s room for me” on a pink jaboth, but again I’d like to see it? rip Jesse..a wealth of work left behind
  24. Stormie winters…your a light saber Sandy wynns..a touch of P***S
  25. It’s the neat English handwriting on the label that throws a spanner in the works too!
