  1. doesnt seem like 5 minutes since jobettes was a 50 quid record, admittedly i didn’t realise the mid tempo bside is now the side to go for,and yeah it ain’t bad at all!
  2. I agree,my basic research lead me to believe it didnt get past a basic promo release, and all these years later it must be a very rare 45 indeed!
  3. Frankie & Johnny I’ll hold you label wear no writing vinyl is vg++ almost ex,plays loud and clear no issues stamped original £350 inc post
  4. Well compiled series of cds, great at the time and still cool now! I think through the passage of time there maybe a few that wouldn’t make the compilations now! debonairs clara hardy carol frederick johnny summers cashmeres clarence Williams danny woods jon tee phil flowers i dont know anything of tge modern side.
  5. Welcome to the EXPENSIVE world of soul
  6. Hi people welcome to the asylum lee (dobber)
  7. I notice this tune is on pat Brady’s auction, pat mentions it being rare as a promo, however i dont think it was issued or as a demo, just promo only? It is certainly rare and a cracking mid tempo piece that I’ve always rated, probably over shadowed by “walk on into my heart” Any more info on the 45?
  8. I think pre eBay etc the showstoppers was regarded as a rare item as compared to a lot of the run of the mill stuff in most boxes at niters.
  9. I thought I would revisit Marc’s post from years back of pointing out so called “impossibles” since the days of eBay and many auction sites we now have,a rather uncomfortable post especially if like me you paid a lot for a 45 just to see wagon loads turn up soul brothers inc teardrops Ward burton sweet temptation johnny maestro stepping out of the picture cashmeres showstopper (sick of seeing this for sale ) doc Peabody (some modern thing) tempos I’ll never forget (3 in the last month) fire away people
  10. So did the45s start on the 5th anniversary?
  11. Is that sarcasm
  12. I agree it’s a top tune,and certainly rarer than a lot of stuff of similar money,however I reckon it’s not a dj driven 45?
  13. Very nice indeed,a lot of nice pieces in there mate
  14. Sweeter than the day before chess white demo spotless labels and ex shiny vinyl however….the vinyl has some tiny pressing pimples and one pimple toward the end clicks once, the music is powerful so you gotta be listening for it! It doesn’t bother me and it doesn’t skip or jump nice price at £350 inc post
  15. Ahh i didnt look at the rudy 45,i stand corrected! Then maybe if the peoples choice was a tad tired then 650 is about right, cos I reckon a nice copy is 800/900 quid tops?
  16. You know what mate it was a vg++ to which Im sure that’s Tim’s version of as good as it gets? So at 650 what a steel.
  17. It feels like the market it is a bit flogged at the moment?
  18. A copy sat on Darren browns site too that’s not moving?
  19. That peoples choice was a flipping bargain! Someone is very happy indeed
  20. Spot on Paul….the northern soul scene is like a lot of things in this country where everything is constantly being watered down!
  21. And yes I agree Paul the more and frequent you add to the internet the more the AI fancy’s you! So that proves that AI is corrupt! I wonder if a politician came up with AI
  22. Wasn’t there a talented dancer chap from the casino days called sandy? I don’t see that clever AI picking his name out?
